Freaking hilarious line by Manny Pacquiao. And, no, I'm not racist (I'm actually half-Mexican myself) or a Mexican-hater. I just thought the line was funny as hell given Pac's "Mexicutioner" reputation.

I'm not certain, but it's a good question. Let's see what Wikipedia has to say on the subject:

Which says that Zorro was born to newly-emigrated Spanish noble parents in California (then a Spanish possession) in 1782. Mexico, which included all of California:

So, by birth and early life, apparently, Zorro was a Spanish nobleman. However, I think most of his exploits were aimed at helping Mexicans:

So, apparently Zorro is based on a real-life Mexican figure, was born on territory that would later become Mexican land and sought to help aggrieved Mexicans against their aristocratic antagonists, even though he himself was from Spanish nobility roots. Or something like that. I'll leave it up to someone else to say whether or not Zorro would technically fit the definition of 'Mexican' based on where he was born, his having lived in Mexico during its independence, etc.

We won't hold it against Pac if he doesn't have all the details 100% correct on this fictional character's background. Ha ha :hat. Although I can't say whether Pac is accurate or not on this one.
