Chico was a lot bigger than Pac. He weighed 149 against Clottey, I don't think Pac could ever hit that weight. Plus, he was accustomed to hard punches. He got rocked, but was a warrior and kept going. We have yet to see how Pac can handle WW punches (we'll find out in November).
dude, you can find all the excuses in the world, but Corrales was not only completely shot and coming off 2 losses, but he's never been half as good as Pacquiao is in the first place. Before the Clottey fight, Corrales' career high weight was 139
I'm just saying chico proved he could take a punch, Pac hasn't proved he can handle the big boys power yet (they couldn't land). Like I said we'll find out. You really think Pac can be Clottey??? Clottey may not knock Pac out, but his style would be a nightmare for Pac. Great D, quick hands, very accurate, and too big and strong. Pac would have trouble getting past Clottey's D and would not be able to push him back. Clottey comes in very heavy on fight night.
Pac doesn't need to push him back to beat him. He can just pop and move all night and stay away from Clottey's punches. If you think Clottey has quick hands then what does Pac have? Pac will not just stand there waiting for Clottey to get off, and Clottey's feet are stuck in quicksand. Clottey's D is overrated. He keeps his elbows too high and is open to the body. Also, Cotto split that guard with his jab enough to knock Clottey down. Pac would split that guard with his straight left and move to the side so fast that Clottey wouldn't be able to touch him. Lastly, Clottey has a shitty workrate. Pacquiao will fight every minute of every round and just keep racking up points.
You're delusional if you think Pac would win (he could probably beat the Klitschkos too). You said all he has to do is pop and move. He always comes forward, he is a big time pressure fighter. Coming into Clottey would be like coming into a wall. Eventually, he would get clocked by Clottey. It's not like Pac can't get hit, Morales and Marquez both hurt him. How will he handle 160-170 pound punches?
I'm delusional, but you're the one comparing Clottey to the Klitschkos. The ****? Pac is alot more than a bigtime pressure fighter, and you'd have to be blind not to see that. He doesn't always comes forward. He moves in angles, moves sideways, turns his opponents, and can back up faster than anyone in the sport when he has to.
This one is easy. Clottey has a granite chin and has never been hurt (by his own admission). Clottey is just too big and rugged and skilled enough to beat Pacman. It's not that Pacman won't land his shots, it's just that Clottey won't budge even if he's getting hit. Look at two guys Pacman took out at the higher weights. DLH has a good chin but was a dead man walking. Hatton had a very questionable chin. Clottey took shots from Marg, Judah and Cotto and was never once stunned, let alone hurt. I see Clottey walking Pacman down and eventually getting to him.
