Too Close to call. Sanchez was one of the best 126lb fighters ever, and had more than enough power to knock Manny out. Pac beats Nelson and hamed, and loses to everybody else.
Willie Pep (126) - manny fast and powerful at this point, but pep is faster in speed and better footwork. at 126 pep is a nightmare for anyone. higher weight i'd give it to manny, but pep was better, not stronger, but better. Willie Pep UD12 Manny Pacquiao Salvador Sanchez (126) - Sanchez great footwork and easily matches manny's speed, stamina, and strength. he had erik morales's right hand, barrera's jab and combination punching, and julio cesar chavez iron chin. and we still didn't get to see his prime at 23 when he died. chava not as slick as pep or whitaker, but great footwork and counterpunching ala juan manuel marquez. another nightmare for pacman, but this one a closer one. Salvador Sanchez SD12 Manny Pacquiao Naseem Hamed (126) - hamed's only chances would of been in the first 4 rounds. i think he is a bigger one punch than manny, but manny too fast, too active, and way too much stamina for hamed and would have him as a punching bag. i think manny would be smart enough to avoid hamed's left as marco did, he should have no problem. Manny Pacquiao TKO 9 Naseem Hamed Alexis Arguello (130) - at this weight, both strong, but arguello easily the bigger one punch ko artist here. however, he did have trouble fighting movers, and manny's speed and footwork would give him problems. however, both like going forward and i'd see manny taking the first rounds as alexis was accustomed of losing. manny has great stamina, but alexis would cut off the ring and eventually catch him and trade with manny, manny's punches probably getting their first. manny being the faster would be on verge of an upset until in one of those exchanges alexis finally connects with his right, probably the biggest punch manny has ever been hit with. he struggles to get up and the fight is stopped in a classic. Alexis Arguello KO 11 Manny Pacquiao Erik Morales (122 & 126)122 morales the better boxer and matched manny's power and speed. i think he is even abit more of a one punch ko artist here as he took out daniel zaragosa and angel chacon with one punch ko's. at 122 in another classic war, i think erik actually stops manny in the late rounds. at 126, i don't think it would be too much of a difference from their superfeatherweight fight. (122) Erik Morales TKO 11 Manny Pacquiao, (126) Erik Morales UD 12 Manny Pacquiao Azuma Nelson (126) supposing it's the nelson that beat wilfredo gomez, it would be a monster match. like gomez, nelson was great at throwing short, powerful shots that took less time to get there than winging bombs like most sluggers. other than his loss to sanchez, nelson had a chin just as good as manny's. nelson also easily as strong as manny and almost as fast. manny would land some shots in the center of the ring, but on the inside it's all azumah and azumah would get the better of the exchanges and hurt manny infighting. nelson was also successful at the higher weights like manny, winning fights he wasn't supposed too, except azumahs opponents were in their primes. too close too call. Azumah Nelson Draw Manny Pacquiao
Arguello seemed to get a bit overwhelmed by punching power and speed. I think Alexis gets befuddled by manny's in and out movement and sudden burst of punches. I think Olivares (past his prime) gave Arguello a hard time i just see some one like pac who has power and handspeed could do more than just give arguello a hard time. I have only seen some of Pep's fights and I think he is over rated. Manny combination of speed and power is enough to beat a guy who doesn't have enough on his punches to earn the respect of Pac, so this keeps Pac relentless with nothing to think about before coming in and attacking.
i have a feeling Pac may be mentioned in the same breath as all of these guys- and even the very very greatest of the game by the time he s done. What he has done is unprecendented. if he simply maintains his level - and beats guys he s supposed to beat- which is practically everyone active -we ll see and hear about him in the books like a Willie Pep, etc.
:good i hope so. the world has all eyez on manny. i'm lucky to of have watched this guy fight he's good to boxing and boxing has been good to him
Agree across the board, though the fight with Hamed could go either way really. If someone like Marquez can hurt and wobble Pac he does not want to get hit with a Hamed bomb. Both are capable of knocking the other out.
Pep would box circles around Pac and embarass him thoroughly, likely sending him flying through the ropes and tripping over his own feet on occasion as he slipped his way out of Pac's lunging, one-paced, straight left filled attack. If an overrated, straight up and down counter-puncher like Marquez could outbox Pac twice, just imagine how badly Pep would school him, or any ATG counter-puncher for that matter.
Manny was much more one-paced at 126 than he is now, and Olivares had many more dimensions to his game than Pacquiao at that stage, not to mention he was fighting a relatively green Arguello who'd stop him in the 9th round anyway. You've only seen some of Pep's fights, likely none in full, all of them past his prime. Just from the past prime footage of Pep I've seen I'd favor him over Pac handily based on his defensive abilities and footwork, which would make Pac's straight forward, one paced attack at FW look very ordinary.
pep ud pac pac kd/ko sanchez by murder. his chin is way too open :good pac kd/ko naseem in exchange of flury. pac will make arguello quit again just like pryor :good pac will humiliate morales again. he did it twice made him kissed the canvass 4 times or more. only headbutt is morales chance pac murder the young azuma at this age :good it is fantasy match up, right? then every one is welcome to his opinion :good
