At any rate, 1.15 m is erally good, considering the many people who boycotted the fight because of the Margarito hand wraps debacle.

this number will end up in 1.3 m range when final total comes in. Both guys are the major draws in Boxing today. These kinda numbers are great from the sport and prove that MMA is not eating in that much on boxings ppv numbers though we do seem to be getting less and less superfights every year.

The Pacman/PBF fight should be split 50/50 and fought in front of 100000 fans in Texas for the sake of Boxing.

If these guys wanna give something back to the fans they will agree to this. Theres tens of millions in the fight already for them. For the sake of a few million just make the bloody fight.

The fact that pac is no American and he's having that numbers. That's something. It's pretty impressive.

Local networks in Texas boycotted this fight and the biggest local news channel did not even mention anything about it, must've been the reason for the dismal performance at the ticket sales.

Dan Rafael said the 1.15M buys is just the initial number and additional figures are still coming

because some think margarito is a disgraced boxer who should be banned for life, other networks just didn't like PPV events and decided not to cover it

That was the problem. Mentioning fraud only made real boxing fans turn away from this fight.

Who wants to hear a yellow in a fight involving two warriors! It is a turn-off except among *****s like you.

pacquiao's fights are shown in the philippines for free by local networks. they pay a fortune for the TV rights and make a killing with TV ads shown after every round. most of the whole country tunes in this way.

those who does not want to watch a fight interrupted by ads pay about ten dollars to watch it live in theaters or bars. again, owners of these establishments make fortunes out of pacquiao fights. there are also a lot who pay for PPV in their own homes.

in the end it doesn't matter how much pac makes in the philippines, he is already the mst recognizable name in the country. what is more special is that he is a non-american who makes millions in PPV inside america

That's stupid. I can understand individual fans boycotting the fight but networks? It's their loss. How about fans that doesn't or wouldn't care, or potential new fans for that matter.

TV Networks pay the rights to show Pac's fights.

Viewers watch the fight for free but it's loaded with ads and commercials.

I timed the commercial between rounds and clocked it in at 8 full minutes!

Companies that put ads pay huge amounts of money to the TV networks that show Pac's fights.
