Which means they made tickets more affordable to the general public. Those *******s!

Anyway, no-one can say for sure JMM would do better. He's never been a draw. The Mosley fight would be bigger as casual fans know his name.

The short answer is "no"... With Marquez there's no "EVIDENCE" that the fight would draw more people, only speculation...

Your figure is inaccurate. Any link, please. I read in most sites that it was 41K+. The Clottey fight which was not promoted well did 50K.

    Pac rules!

I don't think so, it's dela Hoya and Pac who drew the crowd.. Margo had no license to fight at that time. Your tale is fantastic though. It's a good spin to promote your cheater boy.

emmanuel-clottey had 36,000 tickets paid for.

Only 30,000 of those in attendance actually paid for the tickets

I feel like Marquez - Pacquiao would do better but that would be a much bigger risk than Pac-Mosley. And of course Berto looked too good in his last fight so they're just gonna sweep him under the rug and never speak of him again.

A lot of times there are tickets that are given away in any sporting event including boxing. But a lot of times what promoters "expect" is a lot of fluff. Look at Shane vs Floyd....they said the fight would do 2 or 3 million in PPVs. They did right around 1.4 far less than what they expected.

Josh and PAC did more in attendance probably due to fans who boycotted the fight given Marg's drama with the hand wraps. The attendance surprised me a bit b/c in TX there are a lot of mexicans. I thought they'd show a bit more support for Marg, but I was right on with regards to the PPV#'s. I said they do over a million.

I was surprised myself with the live gate numbers....even before getting info on the comped seats. I was expecting at least 50K in attendance. I think a lot of Margs supporters were against him after the drama with his hands.

Complementary tickets are not actually free.

Most often, it is bought by corporate or group as a giveaway, bonus or hotel chains for their high rolling patrons or simply as gifts to their preferred clients. But since it is bulk purchase, they get discounted fees. The only ones who get free pass are the media but they are given media pass instead of ticket.

Even PAC has to pay because they are only given a certain number of tickets for their friends and I remember it was 200 tickets.

I was at the fight and there was a lot of mexicans there. You hear more booooooos for pacquiao than people cheering. I saw the replay on HBO last saturday and you could barely hear the cheer SI Se Puede. Trust me there were a lot of mexicans there. *******s were outnumbered:lol:

It was the best emmanuel performance I seen, but what did you think while you were watching it live in person?
