the honest truth is, I would love to see manny test himself up at middleweight. he really would have nothing to lose if you think about it. it would just be a case of most people saying he went a little too high in weight this time around, but because that sort of outcome is a strong, strong possibility, and because manny is already clearly more than satisfied with his accomplishments, I dont think the fight is gonna happen.

Pac-Mosley would be just as big of a circus act if not more. At this point Pac-Sergio seems to be the best match possible. Let's look at Pac's possible opponents:

Mayweather - Unless he miraculously agrees to fight Pac, we should assume he's retired for now. So we'll move on to the next best thing.
Shane Mosley - Hell no. Nobody wants to see him permanently injured.
Cotto - I'm a fan of his but Pac's style is just too much for him to handle
JMM - We don't know how he would fare at 147 or if Team Pac will let him fight at 140 and even that might not be a good weight for him. Besides, he can wait. He's already had 2 shots at Pac
Top prospects which include Berto, Bradley, Alexander, etc: They're fine candidates however a brutal beatdown can ruin their young career. Sergio is proven and is still strong and in his prime.
Yuri Foreman - No. He's not proven enough
Paul Wiliams - Another fine choice but he is coming off a bad loss. Make him work his way up again before he can get a tremendous pay day.

Sergio can continue to fight middleweights BUT don't you think he deserves a big money fight? Schooling Pavlik and putting Williams to sleep HAS to warrant a HUGE reward. The irony is when Pac needed a breakthrough fight with De La Hoya, they did whatever it took to solve weight and money issues. The only roadblock I see is the 4 pound difference between 150 and 154. Surely they can work it out. C'mon, Sergio is in the same position Pac was 2 yrs ago. Give him a chance. Let him have the 154 limit and Pac can fight at whatever weight he wants.

I just want to see a competitive fight and since Pac is so highly skilled the only way it happens is to match him up with a bigger, skilled man at a weight that might be questionable but still within reason. If Floyd all of a sudden gets his urge back then he should give Sergio a chance too.
