Couldn't tell if you're joking.... it's when they set a limit to the amount of weight they can rehydrate to. For example, weigh in at 147, rehydration clause is set at 153. Meaning they can't weigh over 153 on fight night.
Thanks. I wasn't joking. I figured it was that. I wish they did that more often. I've always been baffled how some guys tack on an additional 10-15 pounds between weigh in and fight time. It's very deceptive.
I don't think the extra weight benefits them as much as people think. But then again I'm not a boxer so I couldn't say for sure. I'd imagine 10-15 lbs over night will make you feel sluggish or heavy. But they've also dehyrdated themselves for a while for the weigh in, so maybe they feel healthier after they rehydrate.
The weight limit is 147 pounds 1 day before the fight. It's normal that fighters goes up in weight fight time an example is Canelo Alvarez weighs in at around 165 fight night. If there is a rehydration clause then the contract can say they can't weigh more than 154 fight night. But if there are no clause than that means they can weigh as much as they want fight night so the fight is on even if someone does a Hulk and bulks up 200 pounds
