Like I said, put the commercials on before the fights or put the stupid advertisements in the ring, or popups like they do in the philippines..I f'n hate that though.

He has been for quite some time now. Iole writes out of Las Vegas and used to write for the main newspaper for years. Top Rank is based out in Vegas too.

it doesn't. as long as the product is widely distributed and leads its market, its always good for the endorser. what's going to dilute him is if he endorses some obscure brand that no one knows.

i dont think so, i remember him criticizing a lot of Top Rank fighters along with Arum. He would actually suck up to GBP more.

Probably thought he was barking at the wrong tree all along and has come to his senses:hey

this was brought to your attention once, and I still don't think you get it.

nothing wrong with supporting your fighters.

but look at it from the PPV side of things

if Bob Arum and company can get a good buy rate on PPV by throwing Pacquiao in with a non competitive opponent (i.e Clottey, David Diaz or an elderly Mosley) and get at least a Million PPV buys or close to it

than what gives Arum a reason for trying to make a competitive match up if he knows Pac vs insert scrub can sell?

*it's the same reason why most PPV under cards suck. a consistent criticism I often hear about PPV's is the under card is usually garbage. So again, if the PPV can sell well despite a poor under card

going forward, (if you're showtime or HBO PPV) why would you shell out extra money for a better undercard when you know what you currently have will already sell?

supporting your fighter is one thing but if a crappy PPV match up sells well, it doesn't help the sport and only encourages further PPV mismatches.

**same thing with movies, if all these crappy sequels sell well, all that'll tell Hollywood is to make more of them. But not improve the quality any.

very valid points. Should Pac fight on free television here in the United States? Absolutely. but let's be real here..PPV is here to stay unless Pac fights a true tuneup fight against Floyd.

look at alexander-bradley. that fight was free AND it was ****.

the overnight ratings are in from Nielsen for yesterdays Prime time showing of fight camp.

    in one word: horrible.

the show has a phenomenal lead in audience from the preceding show. As each 15 minutes passes within the hour the audience was measured for quantity. About 25% of the audience left each 15 minutes- leaving almost no viewers (or hash marks) by the end of the show. It is evident that people DID turn to CBS after the show was over to watch the next set of programming though as the rating went back up.

Fight camp was preceeded by "Entertainment Tonight" in most markets and followed by a crime drama show.

unfortunately I agree, don't see PPV leaving any time soon.

but at least with Alexander-Bradley the effort to make a competitive fight was there. I can't say the same for PPV fights like Pac-Diaz or Pac-Clottey/Margarito

sorry to bust your chops but a

. HBO is premium cable channel and the only way to legally see the fight is if you have HBO or know someone with HBO

if the fight was on basic cable like CBS or ESPN then yeah call it free but HBO doesn't = free
