    Smitty interviewing Pac and Mosley:

    [yt]FjVcmSWdSs4[/yt]

Anybody else have any suspicions that Arum has orchestrated much of the perceived tension between Pac-May? I've felt for sometime now that he (Arum) is intentionally deferring this fight in an effort to extend Pacquiao's career (money generating capabilities) knowing that Mayweather will probably serve as Pac's final opponent prior to retirement. And to keep this fight relevant amongst casual fans, I suspect that he (Arum) is perpetuating some the public posturing between the 2 sides from behind his curtain.

Perhaps my theory is a bit nutty - but I wouldn't put such a strategy past Arum's greed.

I agree on your theory, I get the idea that he is milking pac and when he is shot will finish it with a big mayweather fight for millions.
On the other side floyd is older then pac he might be shot earlier with all those vacations he is taking. It will really take the spark out of a fight that should have happened in early 2010.

I don't think your theory makes any sense. Pac's money making capabilities would be even greater after a win over Floyd. Pac may say that personally he has no problems with Floyd, but Floyd has insulted Pacquiao several times and last I checked posted videos on his facebook page of Pacquiao getting knocked out when he was young.

Arum has little to do with this fight not happening. If anything, Arum wants this fight to happen so he can make even more money off Pacquiao after he beats Floyd.

Guy is an arsehole. Says Floyd is next in November, then says Marquez is the leading candidate

Floyd certainly deserves his share of the blame for the stalling of this fight. If he really wanted this fight to happen by now, I firmly believe it would have happened - and Arum would be powerless to carry out his agenda of delaying the fight.

My theory is primarily based on my gut feeling that Mayweather will probably be Pac's final opponent before retirement. It's a fight can never be matched in terms of hype and money (unless of course there is a rematch) so I can envision that Pac may lose the motivation to train and fight against lesser opponents after reaching such a high plateau.

Suprised he actually said he was his friend, maybe they should both sit down together & sort it out themselves without scumbags like arum getting their bit in, why not ?

Floyd is as much off a dick as arum is, both guys should **** off. Pac is being way to nice here, but probs for him for being cool about it.

You really think Mayweather would do that? I doubt it.

    NO :nono

arum knows that if Floyd beats Pac then Floyd himself will be the man of the world in boxing rather than both sharing the limelight like they are now & I believe arum fears the ability of Floyd & probably in his heart believe`s Floyd beats Pacquiao... as do most.

The thing is, Arum is Pacquiaos promoter so he (Arum) desrves the bulk of the blame for the fight not happening. Floyd promotes himself, so he too deserves a lot of blame. Guys like Manny and Cotto arent as involved in the business side of their careers as far as picking their opponents and the purse split as Floyd is. Floyds ego is his his biggest problem. He forgets that boxing isnt always about Floyd Mayweather. Oscar was able to put himself in big fights because he knew how to deal at the tables. People werent reluctant to sign a contract with his name on it because he was consistant and dependable. Floyd is all over the place and doesnt have as much clout.

I doubt either would be up for that but nothing else has worked so I think they should, if this fight doesnt happen this year then it will be a big black mark & missed opportunity in the career of both guys, they will both regret it for a very long time.

I happen to think that Pac knocks out Floyd.

The thing is - if the fight took place last March, and Pac went on to ko Floyd, Arum would have had to split the promotion with GB and Mayweather Promotions, and then would have probably lost Pac to retirement after the fight, (imv).

By deferring the fight, Arum thus was/is capable of extending Pac's career and matching him against his own fighters which is exactly what we've been seeing.

If it was orchestrated, Floyd really earned that emmy they gave him. He seemed serious that night he made fun of filipino kids on UStream.

I just don't see that happening. I think they really do dislike each other the same way Ali-Frazier did but not as intense.
