thats good....it's best to fight at whatever weight his body most responds too and is most comfortable at, weather it's 140 or 147....

But it's reported in our local media. Does that make our local media liars? :rofl

bottom line is pac gets beat up badly. 141, 147, 150, 999. whatever number he brings in to fight night, he'll find his ass touching the canvass. dont get me wrong, i'm not a hater. in fact i'm a filipino and a big pac fan. i just dont like the idea of him getting into this fight. i dont want to see our sport hero get beaten up badly that it could hurt he's future in boxing. he could have fought the best in 135.

    only my opinion. cheers!!!

I believe you misread or misinterpret what Roach tried to convey.

There is no way that any trainer for a 147 lbs fight is going to have him officially weighin in the low 140's and then have him weigh in the high 140's by fightime.

The Diaz fight was a lightweight fight, so Pac has no choice but to make the 135 lbs limit.
In that case, Pac dehydrated himself to make the 135 lbs limit, and then rehydrated, weighing 146 or 147 by fight time.

When a fighter has to dehydrate, they do so to make their weight limit.

The contracted weight for DLH is 147 lbs, so if Pac is planning on weighing at 147 lbs or over by the time he steps in the ring, believe me no fighter will purposely dehydrate himself to officially weigh any lower than 147 lbs.

You misinterpreted Freddie Roach, of that I have no doubt.

I believe divac ain't bashing/criticizing Pac. He just post what he observed and listen. Dude, to be honest, this ain't a mismatch... both got disadvantages and advantages..Its a long list and heck I dont want to make it.

But let's not forget that this is a fight we don't see per decade. So let's enjoy it to the fullest. Whatever the size, height, weight, speed, power and experience will be both fighters key into victory.

Dude I kinda hated Divac before but to be honest I bash other fighters as well. We have our own opinions and we have our fav fighters...cept Nallege hes just an ass.

    Misinterpreted?

Here's an article where Roach said it:

    http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-article/6179/roach-oscar-over-147-cost/

"My plan is for Manny to come in at 142 and by fight time be up to 147. He was 147 in his last fight (when he defeated WBC lightweight champion David Diaz in his first fight at that high a weight)."

Now tell me how the hell can someone misinterpret something as plain and simple as this?

pac came in at the diaz fight @147 and he clearly retained his speed for that fight. that means pac will weight at least 147 come fightime w/ dlh. pac will probably be a little heavier than this being that this fight will be at 147 and not 135. i expect pac to weigh about 148-150 at fight night. even roach mentioned that pac will be at 150 for the fight while they expect dlh to be around 160.

He`s going up two weights,he`s going to feel the increase in punch power with the same speed coming at him.I reckon he can`t do it.He should`ve avoided the temptation of fighting ODLH and gone straight in against Ricky Hatton, then ODLH.

I wouldn;t under estimate that much though. The fact was Roach was aiming for Hatton but he had Paulie that time. But Hoya went on the scenario. Now IF(the big if again) by some miracle Pac wins, Hatton would think twice... He did turn down Hoya's offer to have a battle between them at the first place.

agreed, except for the hero part. crossing my fingers for this fight, i just hope pac won't get beaten up too bad to the point that he'll lose his remaining 'prime' years.

Wow wow, don`t get carried away lad, just coz you`v seen Pacquiao knock down some big sparrring partner doesn`t mean anything. Its the punches coming at him at 147 lbs on the night of the fight thats gonna be the real test.
