Pacquiao has totally gotten a free pass. Think about the way the media talked about/talk about Barry Bonds comparative to Pacquiao. And Pacquiao is nowhere near as relevant to his sport as Bonds is to his.

I hate bringing up race, but I really do believe Pac gets a relative pass because he's Asian. If he was American or European (or as you say, "if the shoe was on the other foot"), he'd be crucified and be seen as the biggest coward in all of sports.

Fact is; Pac has never tested positive for drugs, never. Void never demanded so many extra tests until he began making excuses for avoid Pac. Void is a pure woman beater! Someone should ask Void, "When will you beat up another woman"?

 

Glad you posted that interview because it clearly shows that Pacquiao is able to understand every question thrown at him by Kenny, and that Pacquiao is also able to put his thought process into english words.

Pacquiao handled that interview beautifully and it clearly shows he can sit and answer questions in the english language.

Some people here got more excuses for Pac than he himself does.

When I was younger and living in the Bay Area, I was a big A's fan. McGuire was also telling everyone that he was all natural for years. Him and Bonds were role models to the kids, and they were hypocritical cheats who let a lot of people down. And now you got Pac who's become huge and is also a role model to a lot of kids refusing blood tests. Just look at some of the kids in this thread.

Wow, I didn't think that Pac could get away with this bull**** in this day and age, especially after so many athletes have been exposed as cheats. He can do so because a lot of fans are cheerleaders and don't want to challenge him. Top athletes can't be trusted, and that's why we got tests. Marion Jones was untouchable for years, and also claiming that she was clean. She was blowing right through her competition, but when she stopped using, she became very ordinary. I'm not saying Pac is on something, but if people didn't learn by now not to trust the top athletes, they never will.

 

The Pac never tested positive excuse again. I can't believe people are still using that. How many top athletes also didn't test positive but were admitted cheats?

 

Maybe I'm wrong, but I dont think this matter between Mayweather and Pacquiao is racially motivated.

The fact of the matter is that the media viewed Mayweather as an ******* and disliked him for reasons other than race way before there was even talk of a Pacquiao fight.

......on the flipside, Pacquiao has always been a media favorite.
.....which is imo the reason why the media has'nt gotten on Pacquiao's case for the incredible embarrasing excuses he brought out for not wanting to be randomly tested.

Mayweather for years has made enemies with boxing journalist......the returns are coming in now and very few if any are taking his side for asking Pacquiao for more modernized drug testing.


Can you imagine if say DLH who was the ultimate media darling in his prime in place of Mayweather now had asked Pacquiao to do the drug tests........the media would have jumped aboard the "boxing needs more modernized PED testing" bandwagon in a heartbeat.
.....and as a result, Pacquiao would have been hung by the balls and crucified throughout the media.


The media is a huge factor in alot of what happens all over the world in every aspect, and sports is no exception.

but pac still answered his question calmly, humbly and respectful of the guy.

very good answer by pac and he definitely showed his class here.

that's why the boxing media likes him so much. he came from very humble beginnings, faced extreme poverty, hardships, adversities and steadily fought his way to the top. and when he finally reached the boxing summit, he still remains as humble and respectful as ever. that's a great and inspirational boxing story right there and the boxing journalists see that.

Why are people shocked about drug tests in boxing ? That would never happen with the media.

They can't even find neutral judges half the time you think they can handle drug tests with the limited comissions. It would only be for the top fighters so it wouldn't clean up the sport just make it more corrupt.
You would have to give expensive tests for every fighter in every fight all over the world. "Protect your self at all times" is the best drug test.
