I meant gambling in general. The British example was gambling on footy, boxing, horses. The Philippine equivalent is cockfighting. stonerose: I dont think Pacquiao specifically said that he wants the extra 5% for his charity work. That didnt come from him. But he honestly does give back to his community. He's like Don Vito Corleone where he's from. Only his money comes from legal means.
He used to gamble, But now he raised "cocks" (I don't mind what you think) for fighting and that is one of his business. Most of his money goes to his charity which feeds 15-20% of the Philippines poor people. And yep, he has a "YES MAN" attribute. Don't you even saw Arum's comment. "I don't know what got into Pacquiao, but those whisperers on his back should get off" or something like that.
If all these rumours are true I suspect that Pac DID want a Hatton fight but then the words "Floyd Mayweather Jr" were probably heard and Manny was distracted. Personally I'd prefer a PBF vs PAC fight.
I think they're just playing hardball. Does anyone know how much that 3% difference actually is $$? (ballpark figure)
Please inform me as to why I am so DUMB. Am I wrong? Would Pac be the P4P #! if PBF didn't retire? Has Hatton NOT worked hard? Please enlighten me
You are right. I don't understand. I don't understand how a 50/50 split is "disrespecting" anyone. It could be argued that Pac is P4P king by default. WOuld he be considered #1 if Mayweather would not have retired? I seriously doubt it. On the other hand, Hatton is THE champ at 140. Is it not "disrespect" to ask the champ to defend his title for less than 50% when you consider that he himself is a huge draw as well?
Why the hell are these negotiations so damned public. I really don't believe it is making fans clamour for the fight....if anything, it's turning people off a little. Accept the money and lets get it on FFS.
