Manny and defense shouldn't even be in the same sentence, Manny has been down and hurt so many times in his career it isn't even funny, He takes clean punches, he doesn't slip punches, they either hit him or they miss. Its not assumptions its cold hard reality if Pac struggles against physically limited counter punchers, what does he do with a taller, slicker counter puncher with more reach. Floyd is a Stylistic walking breathing nightmare for PAC, The suggestion that Roach is studying film on Floyd is just asinine. How do you study a counter puncher for weakness, when 80% of their offense is built off mistakes that you make or punches you throw.
You don't have to pay physically to be made to pay for agression, although any punch landed takes a physical toll on your body however diminutive. A counter is a counter, and if you ever fought before (not assuming that you have or haven't, when you miss a punch it takes more out of you, and when you miss a punch and are countered it takes even more out of you) Pac has struggled against boxers who are able to counter, and specially against Marquez, Pac has shown an inability to adapt in the ring. My point tho you end up basically saying that Pac has evolved as a fighter, true I agree with that, physically yes, mentally maybe, but styles makes fights and while he may be an overall better fighter, against counter punchers where he has struggled, how has he improved, Id say not much because he hasn't fought any slick boxers, or even defense minded counter punchers. When he is weaknesses were exposed how did his handlers respond, well look at who he has fought, One handed, slow, agressors.
You can watch tape of Mayweather for 10 years and until your skin begins to wrinkle, the man has no bad habits at all. He also adjusts in the ring. They will see a different fighter in all of those fights. He isn't predictable, he appears troubled in the beginning of fights but he never is.
Yeah, two lightweights that are going to make him between 40 an 55 million dollars. 15mil for Marquez and between 25mil and 40 mil for Pac. Should he fight Shane,Berto,Cotto, or Williams for 10mil? You call it cherrypicking, I call it smart business.:yep:yep
I have listened to Grant Hill, Kobe Bryant and other great atheletes state that 90 percent is above the neck. You can have all the talent in the world, however, if your opponent outthinks you, that could be a problem. I have read all these predicitions about who is going to win based on physical talent, however, not many has stated about the thinking and mental part. I watched Floyd state that he takes pride and no one is going to outthink him in the ring. He stated that is what has separted him from other fighters, he states that I know what you are going to do before you do it. I believe that is going to be the factor in the fight. Who can adjust and make the fewest mistakes.
Pathetic. You bring up Morales and Marquez as a reason for Mayweather beating Pac, then when I show up your ass, you make ****ing excuses for them why they lost to Pac? What. The. ****? Are you comparing Marquez and Morales to Mayweathwer or not? Seriously Pac-haters really are a walking contradiction Read my lips sunshine. Mayweather AINT DOING **** what Morales and Marquez did to Pac. They're different. Mayweather has advantages over Pac, but so is Pac to Mayweather. Anybody who doesn't see it is nothing but a good for nothing biased idiot. For all the technicall brilliance of 'Money', he doesn't have the one thing that most of Pac's opponents have that actually TROUBLED Pac: WORKRATE. He can counter Pac all night, but if he doesn't throw enough punches(which Marquez and Morales did), countering won't be enough and he'd get overwhelmed. Most of Floyd's opponents where types of fighters who stay right in front of him. So he had it easy for a long time. With Pac, he's facing a guy who has actual MOVEMENT both in head and body. Let's see how Floyd deals with a moving target(admittedly it's also the same to Pac with regards to Floyd). Combine that movement to Pac's insane workrate, power, speed, accuracy and southpaw stance not to mention his ability to HIT WHILE GETTING HIT, which Floyd has RARELY dealt with in his boxing career. And you sit there saying he's tailor made for Floyd? Ha! Hop off PBF's dick and be objective for once.
I've said it before and I'll keep saying it, when you land at a 50% clip workrate is not that important. Boxers throw combinations because they create openings. Which is better, throwing 8 and landing 3 or throwing 2 and landing 2? Throwing 8 scores more but it also wastes energy and creates more openings for the other guy to counter. Floyd throws 2, lands 2, and goes back to defense. The bottom line is that if you check stats Floyd LANDS the same number of punches per round as just about any great boxer out there, he just doesn't have to throw a bunch of garbage to get those punches in. Consequently he doesn't waste energy and create openings. It's pretty integral to his style. If you seriously think that not wasting punches is a weakness then I'm not sure what to tell you. Workrate is overrated when you trade if for accuracy.
Pac defense and head movement? Morales and Marquez high work rate. How about technical boxers with right hands. Also Marquez is a counter puncher.
