Pac-Rios proved several things 1. Pac will never be his old self again. He is fast becoming like the past prime Roy Jones who couldn't help but get trapped on the ropes 2. Pac lost killer instinct and will not take risks anymore, especially during the closing seconds of the rounds. In the past, this was his deadliest moments in the ring 3. Floyd beats Pac at this point of their careers. It will not even be close. 4. Rios is a C+ fighter
I dont agree pac still has it. He pumelled rios. Rios his b level true but pac delt with him just like he should have. Pac would give floyd a fight for sure. Win i dint know but it would be a fight
Stop injecting JMM into every thread juantard - no one cares about that steroid user who Bradley sonned into retirement
PATSYS is a Pacquiao fan. An honest and objective fan. You represent the other variety, which have a different name... :yep
I think Pac may of beaten Floyd 4-5 years ago. There's no way he will ever beat him now. Manny is still a class apart though.
I always believe Rios to be a Siberian-Mongol descent Mexican with his China eyes. Pac was quite slick last night and Rios just couldn't hit him and didn't know where the punches were coming from. The fight just proved that Chinamen have a hard time seeing and can't fight slick boxers.
Rios had a gameplan that was partial to not punching at long and mid range. Pacman leaps in and cracks you at those ranges. He didn't see the openings with Rios, which JMM wisely created in order to counter Pac, so he coasted and won every round. This fight looked similar to the Clottey fight for long periods of every round, and people weren't saying he lost his killer instinct then. Every time Rios let his gloves leave his face, he got countered hard, so he just waded inside with a semi-tight guard and threw rabbit punches. I don't think there's much to say here, we'll have to see Manny fight a better fighter. If he hurt Rios or felt that he had Rios in serious trouble, then we could have judged his killer instinct. Pac took a couple good shots and he looked fast and crisp, but all we can tell from this is that he isn't washed up 100%. Rios was tailor made to get beaten badly, but instead fought a spoiler type fight. Pacman is diminished, but we all knew that going in. It was good to see that Pac has something left, but Rios is a severely limited fighter. Pac should hang it up before he gets seriously hurt again. I think a rematch with Bradley would go a lot differently now. Pacman would have to work hard to win it. That'd be a good one to finish with for Manny.
I wasn't overly impressed; certainly Many didn't show us anything we haven't seen before, but it wasn't exactly close either. You can only look so jaded when you're in complete control. Manny could have possibly forced a stoppage if he put his foot down with the combinations, battering Rios into a shell. There's no doubt he cruised a bit. He admitted afterwards that it was imprudence that undid him in his last bout so he was a little more reserved. Rios kept his chin nice n' low throughout to prevent head-snappers. Some have questioned Manny's power but his punches force aggressive fighters to batten down the hatches and persevere. That straight left is still a peach. A Bradley rematch would be good. And lets not count out the possibility of a Mayweather fight, even if it is only for the same reason children like to believe in Santa Claus.
