I'm sorry but this fight determines P4P supremacy and it determines the best fighter of this era.

Not a total surprise. Pac's been planning on running for office for years after losing his first attempt at Congress. I don't get why people are surprised by this development. With his recent achievements, its really logical for him to make his move now. He's almost guaranteed a win now.

For the record, I don't really want Manny to go into politics. Its a dirty and cutthroat arena. The people Manny has surrounded himself politically are scumbags and in all honesty he's probably gonna get disillusioned if he ever wins. You only need to see the recent Massacre in Maguindanao this last month to see how insane Philippine politics is.

That said, everyone in boxing wants this fight. The fans want it because its a megafight that comes along every other decade or so, the people behind the scenes want it coz of all the money its gonna make, and I truly believe that both fighters want it just to settle once and for all to see who the better man is.

This fight is gonna happen. Its just too big, too historical a fight for everyone involved just to let it go. There's gonna be posturing on both sides. Pissing contests, et al. But I truly believe this fight is gonna happen.

I think the fight before the election is the best publicity he could possibly get. Until Arum gets to the Philippines and presents the contracts to him, all these post about so and so saying this and that is pure speculation.

Well if all this happens to be true and the fight isnt made (and when I say that, I mean it being both of their next fight being against each other in 2010), I will very much be gutted.

Only thing I can think of which could be seen as this being ploy, is the fact Manny might want more money. Put it this way, I think it's quite obvious amongst the boxing community that Pac has the better resume out of the 2. I know Floyd fans will disagree, but objectively speaking, I think a poll would tell us that most of the community believes so. If Manny now shows reluctance in signing the contract it might just push Mayweather into offering a higher purse split in favor of Pac, in order to make the fight happen....

    Why?

I think Floyd needs a win over Pac, more than Pac needs a win over Floyd in order to cement his legacy as the best boxer of this era. If the fight doesn't happen, the majority of people will look back, see the resumes and probably deem Pac the best of the era.

That said, i'll be bloody pissed off if the fight doesnt happen because of this political side story crap. This fight does quite literally determine the best boxer of this era, if it doesn't happen, then it leaves a massive gap in boxing which we'll be debating on these boards for years to come.

Look if I were Pac I wouldn't take the fight either. After beating Cotto Manny could run for the President of the United States. Everyone loves a winner. Why risk losing to Mayweather and ****ing up your political aspirations?

But, You can not blame Mayweather for not stepping up.

LOL...calm down. The fight will be made. But everyone is acting as if when PAC first ran for office and didn't win....he said he was going to run again...and even before last year PAC said he was running for office. He won't win...his fans rather see him fight. So the fight will be made after the elections. March was NEVER an option for PAC.

Us boxing fans on this forum or a country with an esimtated 92,000,000 people. Go figure. There's more than just boxing out there in the world.

Fight will be made, just that it will happen after March (later half of 2010). Calm down.

Just a bunch of bitter kids like you itching for anything resembling Pac ducking to "get back at his fans and Pac". That's all I see.

I don't need to condone ****. Pacquiao does whatever the **** he wants to do. If he wants to go into politics, oh well, it sucks but the guy wants to do it. He has aspirations outside of boxing, simple. So what?

Oh no, Pac, stop, Billy the full time plumber and bitter Morales fan says you are a *** for doing that, don't do it. A bunch of bitter dudes in a forum are calling you names for wanting to go into politics DON'T DO IT MAN. :rofl
