Pac should go 48-52, but then insert a $2M per lb. overweight clause

I guess I have to be specific in what I mean, just because I said Floyd is a natural 140 pounder doesn't mean I think he can still go down to that weight, I mean that was his most effective weight class he fought in last.

Let me ask you a question, after how the Pac/Cotto fight went down do you really think the 145 pound catch weight was necessary?.....In my opinion it wasn't because the fight was so one sided that it didn't matter if it were at 145 or the max at 147, Pac would have still won.

pac is a great small fighter. floyd is a great fighter
who is naturally bigger than pac at present. you can see it in his fight with jmm where he looked like around 155+. pac was around 149 when he fought cotto. its ok that the fight will be held at 147 to test pac even more but if his team would demand a catchweight, i would not blame them. besides, bulking up by forcing pac huge amounts of protein would have an effect on his health and liver in the long run.

what a bunch of ***** ****. pac walks around at 150 floyd at 155 (if that much) same size guys. just because pac still was able to shed the weight to fight at lower classes and floyd moved along time ago so what. No catch weight even fight.

You're talking noting but a bunch of bull****. Even Pac himself said he's fine fighting Floyd at 147. Pacquiao fans need to stop trying to coddle him. It's embarrassing. Pac is a true warrior. No way would he pull a ***** move and try to defend his WW title at a catchweight against a guy who walks around at about the same weight as him.

    TOTALLY AGREED!

Floyd is more than 10lbs naturally heavier than Pac.

nice bigreg, no need for pac fans to worry so much. It doesn't matter if this fight was at 130 floyd's a diffrent kind of fighter, he beats the **** out of pac at any weight. Easy Boring Floyd Fight

it would not matter against cotto but it would matter against floyd. pac would not hit floyd as much and being bigger would mean much punch resistance against smaller guys. the idea of a catchweight is to limit the weight difference to be fair to both fighters. but if pac's team is ok at 147 i would not have any objections. i just think that 145 is the fairer weight for the fight where both will get credit if either wins.

Same day weigh in and that solves the problem..... both will be fighting as WW.... and WW is from 140+ up to 147, so both would have the option to weigh in whatever they want in that range....

There have been many fights between WW boxers who don't necessarily weigh in the same, but they still fight without a catchweight because their weight is in the range of the WW division.

If the same day weigh in option still no good for Pac, then he should fight at 140 instead and forget about catchweight fights....

not everyone who walks at a weight means that is his natural fighting weight. donaire is walking 130+, is that his natural fighting weight? and i doubt floyd is still walking 150 at this time. he looked bulkier after 2 years of absence. he is now a full welter.

That idea isn't necessarily the right one.... go and ask fighters who think they can still make the weight at any weight class....

As a matter of fact many Pac fans have said that the reason why Pac have lost in the past is because he was drained, meaning he was fighting at a weight he did not belong to.... and that's exactly what could happen to any boxer who comes down to fight at a catchweight.....

i don't think 145 would make floyd drain. he weighed 146 in his last fight without trying to sweat. i just think that 145 would be fairer and give floyd more credit if he beats pac. but if 147 was agreed by both parties, i have no qualms.

50-50 @ 147 is fine. No way in hell this fight gets made if it aint 50-50 ,both fighters won't agree.

So if the fight is made at 145 will the Diamond belt be on the line?
