Pac always looks explosive, unless he's just playing around. I remember watching his training for the first Morales fight where he is shadowboxing in the park and thinking sweet jesus no one on earth can beat this guy ...

It's not the explosiveness - it's whether he can pull the trigger when he is getting hit hard and if his punch resistance isn't eroded. Hopefully Rios is an easy night, but Rios is tenacious and he can punch hard.

but yeah, he just has a naturally explosive offense. He looks very fit - first day of camp? Awesome. Hope he doesn't overtrain.

Pacquiao is going to destroy Rios and everyone will be riding his dick again, because most fans are fickle.

Truth is, the Rios fight doesn't prove ****, Rios is fodder, it will be Pac-Diaz 2.

However what is also true is, Pac looked the best he has in a long time in the JMM fight. People overlook the fact that he had JMM badly hurt, looked explosive although a bit slower and had his aggressiveness back. JMM had the experience of fighting Pac 3 times, and timed him perfectly to a counter. Given Pac's aggressive style, against a perfect counter puncher who's fought him 3 times already it can happen, thats boxing. 1 punch doesnt make a fighter "shot" all of a sudden.

There isn't a magical property to losing that suddenly forces someone into "shot" zone. Fighters can lose because they're shot, they dont become shot because they lost. In the case of Pac, he was simply beaten that night not because he was shot, but because he ran into a perfect punch, and that doesn't mean he will be shot overnight.

If Rios was fodder for Pac pre-jmm 3, he is still fodder now.

You mean Pac looked great against JMM offensively. Defense is still a part of the game and defensively he looked like sh*t.

Defensively he's always looked the way he has. 99% of fighters can't capitalise on that leak in his defense when he's showing offense like that, the reason JMM could so clearly even whilst beat up was 1) Because he has amazing recuperative powers 2) He's fought Pac thrice and arent in shock and awe at the speed and power anymore.

Impossible to know how training is going from a 46 second clip.

The question for me won't be Pacquiao's hunger, speed, power, but his punch resistance.

Rios is now working with Heredia now as well apparently. I still think Pacquiao should have enough though.

he always had unorthodox weird technique - this is how he has ALWAYS looked. That's why the mayweathers say he can't box ... but it works for him. Some guys have unorthodox punch mechanics but he can still harness all kinds of force.

Pacquaio is one of the most explosive fighters in the history of the sport. Why are you so jealous? Maybe you can't punch. Too bad. Deal with it.

Pacquaio has a gift. It's why Mayweather won't risk getting in the ring with him, firing off a right hand, and stepping forward, off balance (like he does in every single fight against a southpaw) and have Manny's short ass step back, fire a left uppercut, crack Mayweather, then move to the side, and fire a three punch straight combination.
