Hoya declared that his fight with PAC will be personal citing the aborted signing of PAC with Hoya's Golden Boy Promotions. Hoya claimed he felt betrayed by PAC. As for PAC, I think he has some personal issues with Hoya too. Hoya/GBP labeled PAC as a LIAR on one occasion during the GBP vs. TopRank court battle for PAC's promotional rights. Hoya also fooled PAC with a suitcase full of dollar bills in order to entice PAC in signing with GBP. It's a very unethical and degrading manuever. Certainly PAC has some personal issues with Hoya in the past that he might want to get even inside the ring.
They're trying to put edge and needle in ,to make people watch a 'grudge fight'.instead of saying-'who cares? ' As if?Pathetic attempt to get people interested in this pointless fight.
I'm worried about an Angry hoya too because all he has to do is pull the plug on this fight. If I were pac, i'd put on my happy game face and not say a word about what went on in the past. It might come back to haunt him.
Who needs who more? PAC has lots of options, there's Hatton, winner of Casa/JMM, winner of Campbell/Guzman, winner of Juan Diaz/Katsidis, Valero, Soto, etc. Does Hoya has some viable options for his last fight? OK let him fight Margarito...
Pacquiao's personal, that means he's motivated, remember (of course you do!!) his inspiring motivated performance against Barrera?
Yeah IF it's full of Benjamins but if it's mostly 20 dollar bills, it's an insult... Seriously Hoya is a professional promoter. Kidnapping a boxer and luring him with that suitcase full of cash is grossly unethical and degrading. What does he think of PAC, a druglord, a mafia boss or an arms dealer?
Catch weight of 147 lbs. with a clause of $750,000 penalty for every pound Hoya comes in overweight. I guess the rich Hoya can afford to be 2 pounds overweight for a total of $1.5M penalty.
