How can Floyd fans afford PPVs if according to Pacfans they're all on public assistance?

People are not ordering Pac because he had been continually getting less exciting, and fighting lesser and lesser name opponents on top of it. A bad combination for anyone and especially for Pac who is known for excitement.

What does it matter what the Algeri fight did? It was in China and Algeri is not a household name ( but who is ). Lets talk some straight up facts, if you look at all time top PPV numbers by fighters you will see PBF at the top ( thats a FACT ) what you see next is Pacquiao, then Oscar etc etc. Now however you look at it there are TWO fighters there in the same weight division and still fighting SO WHY the hell has this fight not happend in the near 5 years that they have been in the same division. It has nothing to do with PPV buys nor drug testing or any other BS.. Its Floyd's ego and his hate for Bob and vice-a-versa.

I will state another fact here..I hate my boss, and if I was out and saw him over the road on fire. I would not even go over and pi$$ on him to put out the fire. This is how Floyd and Bob are and frankly I dont blame either of them. Its just a shame Pac gets dragged into it as he is THE 2nd greatest fighter of the last decade with Floyd obviously being ahead but not by much using logic.

As soon as PPV die in America the better. You fans lose out because of PPV. We not have PPV fight here and instead the sport grow. USA have PPV and sport shrink.

    Yes, to a large extent.

But PPV's have been around for a few decades now. It's not the sole reason.

It start of reason, they keep getting more expensive and US have no inspiration fighter. We have Tatsuyoshi who inspire generation of fighter, Roy Jones, Oscar, Holyfield and Tyson fail tondo that as not enough people get to see them I think. Big shame.

250k buys for a fight halfway around the world isn't bad really. Does that number include worldwide/foreign buys or just domestic? I know Asian countries use their own networks and affiliates for PPV, doubt the people even know what HBO even is.

Macau makes Vegas look like Reno, early 2014 Macau's gambling revenue was 7x that of Vegas. Seven times. Here's another way to look at it; Vegas made ~15% of what Macau did... That's what most people tip their waiters.

That's a whole lot of money being thrown around there and Top Rank/Arum/Manny got a nice foothold there. More lenient taxation and less governmental red tape too, wouldn't be surprised if Top Rank and Manny got a nice fat bonus check under the table for all the Asian gambling whales they attracted for that event.

Arum doesn't care about the PPV #'s, that greedy money grubbing shyster knows where the big money is at and that's why he's had Manny fighting there.

What does the fight being in China have to do with explaining low PPV numbers?

We aren't talking about how many Americans bought tickets to the Venetian in Macau... We are talking about how many American units ordered PPV.

Unless they were planning on seeing it live in Las Vegas or wherever else, it being held in Las Vegas or Macau doesn't change anything.

"Less promotion" is the response I will get to that. To which I will say, tell me how the location affects the promotion? They did their annual several-city-tour of the United States. They were on the same number of American TV shows doing interviews to hype the fight that any other PPV gets.

The fight wasn't fought at 3 AM in the morning. China conceded the time slot to exactly match typical American PPV, as they had for the Rios fight.

Did less Americans watch any of the Heavyweight title fights from the 70's because they were in Jamaica, Zaire, etc...? No.

Not surprised if this inbred troll is telling the truth for a change. This fight never excited me.

That's my take on the situation. I've bought all of Pacquaio's ppvs up to the Algerie fight. Passed on that one. Been passing on Mayweathers fights for a lot longer than that. All the PPVs in my market are now 70 bucks plus a 10$ premium for HD plus taxes on top of that! For a mismatch? FFS! If they're charging that for the likes of Maidana and Algerie, what's the fee going to be for Mayweather / Pacquaio? 100$!? I like seeing history being made as much as the next guy, but I've been watching boxing long enough to know that it doesn't happen often and I'm not paying over 80$ on the off chance it's gonna happen. More often than not a PPV event is the champ vs a no hope hype job. It's looking more and more likely that I am out of the PPV market permanently, but that's fine. There are many other sources to see fights these days. I'm tired of being ripped off based on the country I live in and it's average salary. Long live the PPV boycott!!

Arum better care about PPV buys. If he expects to get a half assed decent deal for Manny he better make sure he goes into the negotiations with some kind of leverage. If not, he better take what he can get.
