Pac vs Berto could be similar to Tito vs Vargas

Remeber Pac's KO losses came when he had not matured yet as a fighter, he was also not suited to those weight classes. He was not trained by Roach, so his fundamentals were relatively poor, he was a shadow of the fighter he is today. Pac was not even close to his prime when the KO losses happened. Margarito and Clottey were much better than Singsurat and Torrecampo, they lost nearly every round against PAcquiao did they not? The fact that you are basing this match up on Pacquiao's 2 earlier career losses makes your argument nearly totally invalid in my opinion. It's not credible.

I hope this is a joke. If not, then this is the worst post I have seen on here in a while.

yeah but alot of times undeafeated young green champions surprise alot of people in their biggest fight of their careers

look at dirrell, when i found out he was entering the tourney, i said to my self that it was i mistake. Ask yourself this:

at that point, could you imagine Dirrell against Frocsh and Abraham back to back and arguably winning both fights? he rose to the occasion

just like Ward vs Kessler, hatton vs tsyu, pacquiao vs barrera, ect

i think berto will surprise alot of people

Of course anything can happen in this sport but I'm a realist....I don't see any qualities that Berto has to bring to the ring that PAC is not levels above. Asided from Speed and power that is. Berto is quick and he's got pop but overall he's not in PAC's league. Tito and Vargas were on level with one anther in all areas except for experience which helped him beat Vargas. If Berto lasted with PAC that would surprise the **** out of me....beating PAC would be even more surprising.

Actually I wasn't basing my argument on the two early losses, I was simply refuting the "Berto gets knocked out, watch the Collazo fight" logic. Which is about as stupid as the ironic point I illustrated. You are correct it's ****ing dumb, no different than it's dumb to say Pac destroys Berto because of the Collazo fight. The point is that their past fights aren't as important as their current attributes and skill sets.

You can also add Jermain Taylor vs. Hopkins to this list as well.

Vargas had a couple major wins at that point. Berto's next major win would be his first.

I don't know that Pac is more powerful than Berto, Berto is naturally bigger and stronger, I would give the "power" edge to Berto. In terms of speed, it's a contest, I would give the edge to Pac but Berto's handspeed is better than anyone Pac has faced in a long time...possibly ever. By far the fastest since he went on this run that he's on. Berto possess the skill set to hurt Pac, if betting I would put my money on Pac, but Berto is the most entertaining fight.

I wouldn't mind seeing Pac - Berto at all. But Berto would get his ass kicked. He's too wild and open to be hit. He'd be out of there by the 6th round.

Dude this logic sucks, he's won enough to be the champion of Pac's current weight class, if it's such a gimme fight then whats the problem, why are you guys not begging for Berto? Berto is by far the most live opponent available to Pac, give the kid his shot. **** the washed up has been, PBF leftovers, that **** is lame.

You have no idea what logic I was using judging by your post. :patsch

I was replying to someone who said Vargas was not as green as Berto is. And judging by the wins Vargas had compared to what Berto has, was right.

I don't give s **** if Berto won a vacant belt 5-6 fights ago. He hasn't done squat as a champ but get hand fed stiffs.

I don't beg for 'gimme' fights for fighters, maybe that's what you do...

Maybe...Pac is a great fighter and that is very possible, but there is also the possibility that the young champion seizes his chance and at least for one night is the better man. JMM/SSM they aren't "contenders" or "challengers"...they are past champions, why not allow a contender who will present a challenge to have their chance. Pac may win this way, but he better bring his lunch...cause like it or not Berto's no joke and ANYONE (to include PBF, SSM, etc) better get in the ring prepared to go all out cause Berto is legit. He's rough around the edges, he has his flaws, but he also possesses tremendous talent and if that talent can manifest itself on a given night he can beat anyone.

Right...that's why I said aside from Power and speed. I think Berto is more powerful and stronger than PAC but most of the dudes PAC beats are bigger ans stronger.

Bottom line is this.....Berto is dangerous especially early. Which makes for an interesting fight. Moreso than a fight with JMM or Shane. Not that I think Shane wouldn't or couldn't beat Young Berto.....I think he can, but Berto being undefeated is a nice element to bring into the ring if he won the lotto and secured the fight with manny. Shane didn't look good in his last two outings and no one can blame him for his performance against Floyd....Afterall...it was Floyd. But the Mora fight I don't know what to think. He should have beaten Mora.

So who are you hoping to fight 0-1-1 SSM? Or perhaps JMM at 147...Lol, those aren't "gimme's"? I know Berto isn't a "gimme" you are making it appear as if he's a gimme as a way of dismissing him as a non factor, because YOU KNOW that Berto is a legitimate threat to Pac and of the three fighters available has the best chance to beat him.
