    Why the hell not?
Given that Berto gets by Urango 5/30.
WBC Belt up for grabs and then get into serious
    negotiations with floyd.
    What do you guys think?
    Hows this fight turn out?

    Blasphemy!

Berto deserves no such shot! Why should Pac waste his time?

a belt and a litmus test to see how he'd do against andre, who has similarities to floyd. who else is there that can prep the pacman for the floyd fight?
and dont say guzman. he's even less deserving and that would be an awful fight.

I don't think berto has the experience to deal with a fighter like that, and little ability to keep pac off of him

Hell if Collazo gave him hell I dont see why Pac can't.

Berto usually weighs in 145lb for welter so he isnt actually a big welter himself, might be best for Team Pacquaio to probably take a shot and further test their limits at 147 before fighting against the elites.

    precisely! :good
only after testing the waters should he even consider
the cottos or moselys of the world.

not that it would be a bad one, but wouldn't u rather see Cotto/Pacquiao or Pacquiao/Mayweather?

    abso-****en-lutely!
    but lets be sensible.
pacs a small dude and 135lbs should have been
stretching it for him. let the guy ease his way into
the higher divisions, instead of jumping headlong
into the meatgrinder. one of these days he will over-extend himself and have
    a bad night.
as of yet, no one above 130 has tested him with a
volume of shots . can you imagine the hype to
build the fight if he goes after cotto?

well, imagine the bust if he got smoked by the
    first punch cotto lands.

My 2 favorite fighters. I've always insisted that Pac wouldn't have a shot a beating the top welters but after last Saturday I've been forced to rethink those thoughts. Even if these two were in fact to fight at 47 I'd have to side with Pac now. Berto was troubled by Collazo's south paw angles and was in fact staggered in the first round of their fight by a straight left. Pac's much faster and even hits harder that Collazo. Berto is still a work in progress as he continues to get more experience against better competition so asking him to fight Pac at this stage of his career is a lot to ask of him. Maybe in a year or 2 when he is coming into his own and Pac slows down a tad I would possible favor Berto again.

If Pac fights Berto would he be considered cherrypicking?

eh, kinda like the diaz fight. take on the weakest champ in the division to get your feet wet, maybe grab a belt at the same time. if he wins, bring on cotto. if he miraculously beats cotto, bring on mosely or floyd. if he manages to beat either or both of those guys, he'll be scratching at the door if not in the top 25-15 atg's.
if he loses, no big deal. 140 or retire.
