PAC vs David Diaz: Option 2 for Manny

What should be comes into play when you (or your fans) are constantly complaining you are not P4P #1.

And while Pacman has alot to think about, again, he is set for life. He has plenty of money. If he wishes to take the path of least resistance in favor of money, that is fine by me. However, it does effect his legacy IMO. You cannot claim you are on a path to greatness by going for low risk/high reward.

Find High risk/High reward....

 

we all know that PAC has the tendency of making bad decisions for his career... the guy's not even thinking about his legacy... he is only thinking about the money, too much is never enough. He said in a recent interview that he would probably move up to 135, then when asked if there is a chance of him facing JMM he said yes " IF THE PRICE IS RIGHT." A Very different answer from the PAC of old who, when asked about his next opponent, would say " LINE EM UP!" thats really disappointing for me as a big PAC fan...

 

This is what I was saying. I kept hearing Pacman will fight anyone and is looking to be one the best ever.

Now I am hearing it's about the money. And some Pacman fans are actually repeating this as though its a reasonable argument to him not fighting Casa if he moves up. But they were the ones criticizing PBF for the same thing a year ago.

reports have it that pac only received 2M from fighting mab after GBP and Top Rank got their cuts. i guess this co-promotion thing especially when pac fights GBP fighters has a very significant effect on his take from now on.

 

talaga! i mean really? damn that must have suck for him... hope this doesnt affect his choice of opponent for his next fight... everyone who PAC should fight is with GBP.

 

That may be the official announcement. But how much is the actual purse of Pac? You know what I mean?

Besides, PPV was not yet included in the computation.

 

i recall pac officially getting around 2.5M from the solis fight. this doesn't include ppv.

so he should be getting 3M+ purse for this fight with mab. if gbp and top rank are getting at least 15-20% each of pac's actual purse that will be a significant loss to his take.

 

See, the options on the table, outside JMM, are not superfights. Pacman isn't going to make signifigantly more money fighting David Diaz as he will Casamayor. Hell, he will probably make less seeing as how Casamayor is the real champ in many peoples eyes.

I am talking about what he SHOULD do, not what he will do based on his mentality. I kept hearing how Pacman will fight anybody and takes on the best. If he chooses to fight David Diaz over Casamayor, Guzman, or Soto, then that statement is not true.

Saying that these guys are calling him out because he brings money means nothing...thats what THEY are doing. We are talking about what PACMAN is going to do.

 

In this day and age (until we find out the ramifications of Ring being bought) the Ring champ. Remember, history will remember that Casamayor WAS the WBC champ but was stripped. Diaz got his titles when they stripped Casamayor. So Pacman would be beating the Ring champ AND the REAL WBC champion.

If not him, then go after the winner of Diaz/Diaz. Or after the Guzman/Soto winner. History will remember it all.....they will remember that David Diaz had a close/controversial win over a fighter Pacman KO'd 2 times prior to his fighting him.

Pacman is a great fighter and should aspire to greatness. There comes a time for money, and a time for legacy. PBF had to make his money...he made it, and now he can do both. Pacman can do the same....he will make money no matter WHO he fights IMO.

As for the contract thing, I didn't know that he was tied into that deal. If he is, then that sucks. And pardon my not knowing.

 

That's unfortunate for him and for boxing.
