Noboddy knows who David Diaz is so 200,000 aint that bad considering 300,000 buys in boxing these days is considered great.

"Boxingtalk has been hearing serious rumblings from various sources claiming that the Manny Pacquaio-David Diaz PPV telecast generated an abyssmal amount of buys believed to be less than 200,000. No official announcement has been made by HBO regarding the numbers and this could be the reason why. "

What a shame. Goddamn fight should've never been on ppv.

I'm a PPV boxing addict and the thought of ordering that one was pure comedy. Truly a joke.

he won't explain here i doubt it, or perhaps explain it here and try to circle and twist things up:yep

gas excuse may be true but still the fact remains that he said more than 350k i think or so and it didn't happen, he always brag about his predictions being true but its not..

diaz is not a big name fighter and is just an ordinary champ the likes of erdei, arthur, luevano. etc. Its expected for a fight like this, this fight i believe won't even be made if not for that belt, consider the belt as a future investment for a big money fight in the future

I rather not ridicule pac's but I cant help but to take a shot at pacDbest after all the **** he talks. :yep

There is no doubt pac is great for boxing though. He was just talking so much **** about pac being this huge name and being the next de la hoya.:rofl

There can be no doubt now that floyd is the bigger draw.

just shows how hard it is for an overseas fighter in america to draw a following.

hatton was not a success v anyone bar mayweather
    calzaghe not a success v kessler/hopkins
tszyu was not a success-one man and his dog in attendence for anyone bar an american fighter
paq is not if the latest figures are to beleived when not fighting a marquee name
wladimir ? not sure how many viewers he gets
i watched abraham v miranda 2 and it was very low key

take away all the ex pats who watched those fighters in america and it is a very small percentage of americans who would have paid to watch those boxers fight.

boxing is getting very marganalised because of the obsession with promoters of having PPV.

unless the arums/dlh/kings start building up the groundbase by having fights on regular
tv , the number of people watching and following boxing in america will continue to dwindle.

they are going to have to maybe take a loss in the shortterm .
king and arum will not do that as what do they care they are getting near the end , but dlh might have the vision to see whats coming.
