It wasnt PPV in the UK, maybe that was the same across Europe too.

But 200k is still pretty low for the States I suppose

They never should have put this fight on PPV. And Arum pushing for this over a 3rd fight with JMM (which would have done well over 500,000 buys, probably over 600,000) makes me believe that alot of this is just him trying to put the shaft to GBP.

This is good news and I wish it would have done closer to 10 buys.

    Quit putting on **** ppvs.

Lets see give us a mismatch of a main event.

Load it up with **** undercard fights.

And just to up the ante give us Tye "I must be Bob Arum's illegitimate son" Fields as well.

I have no problems buying ppvs but i do have a problem buying straight up ****.

Maybe Arum will learn his lesson and put Pac/Valero on regular Hbo or heavens forbid Showtime.

Then again, maybe not, I'm sure Pac and Valero is headed for ppv.

I believe it ... and that **** has nothing to do with the economy ... that fight was terribly promoted ... It didn't have a count down ... and nothing of note from HBO or other sports stations that help promote the sport.

There was no pre-fight **** on ESPN ...

    only 1 commercial ...

Diaz is a virtual nobody ... and not everyone who's not a hardcore boxing fan knows exactly who Pacquioa is ...

Arum should have known a PPV would not work for this fight (although, according to Bob, HBO is the main one pushing for PPV's).

Pac isn't that mainstream in America, don't know why everyone thinks he is. Casual fans and non-boxing fans don't know who the hell he is. America frowns upon children with mustaches.....ok that was mean, and a joke. But honestly I don't know alot of people know who know who he is.

    Nice avatar:good

The thing is, I think Pac is a semi decently known fighter in America. His fight with JMM did 525,000 buys, the fight with MAB did 400,000 buys.

Or am I underestimating the drawing power of JMM and MAB???:think

No, you're not underestimating them. Like any fighter, the opponent will help dictate who buys or skips it. Most PPV's that sell well often have two top or at least recognized fighters involved. Plus there are other factors....how well promoted....competing shows/sports events....# of recent PPV's...time of year (weather believe it or not). There are many factors that determine how successful a PPV is. But truth is, like many said, this shouldn't have been a PPV. I waited for the replay 5 day later. :D

99% of those who bought that wanted to see pac. nobody wanted to see david. the jmm and mab fights did way better becasue those guys have their own following and they were representing mexico which made it easier to sell.
