Buchanan was a tremendous boxer, very underrated...great fight.. but besides winning the LW belt, I wouldnt consider it a "big" fight with ATGs
"Benitez, Hagler, Hearns". I would have loved to see Duran against Pryor.

He can beat Pryor at 140, but it depends on the weight against Arguello. He could've beaten him at 140, 60/40 for Alexis @ 135, and Pac gets raped @130.

One thing about the Hagler fight is that Hagler would have won that fight easier had he utilized his size and strenght advantage.
The problem is that he boxed too damn much and even though he clearly outboxed Duran, it left the impression that he had a hellish of a time.

BTW the Davey Moore win was classic, I was living in NY at that time and they hyped Moore to the hilt as a local talent but damn he was destroyed. Moore was never the same.

I guess everyone tend to get overrated at some point unless youre SRR.

:-( look if manny happens to outbox floyd in a decision, like duran did with leonard, and beats a top fighter that's 6'1'', 28yrs in his prime when manny is 37yrs. old then you can say manny is as good as duran. he still needs to fight with jmm to settle their score, like duran did with dejesus

Duran was only knocked out twice in his career which spanned over 100+ fights... one by Hearns and the other by William Joppy when he was like 47 years old and i believe that was his last fight. Which means you were right in the sense that he was knocked out by a heavy hitter, i think maybe you just pluralized it by mistake. Its all good, we all make mistakes buddy.

Well luckily Pac still has some fights left so we'll see what happens. Pac vs JMM 3 is next though, Floyds getting KO'd(I hope).

I believe the question is who do you like at LIGHTWEIGHT. Duran only suffered 1 loss at 135 lbs to Esteban De Jesus, a great fighter himself. Duran avenged this loss at 135 pounds shortly there after. Duran was a monster at 135 lbs and lost to men like Ray Leonard and Thomas Hearns at 147 and 154 pounds. Bringing up the "No Mas" fight and the KO losses are pointless because he beat every fighter he ever faced at 135 pounds, all 70+ of them.
