Duran's fight with Hearns would be the equivilent of Pac fighting Paul Williams at 154. And thats even a stretch because Williams isnt anywhere near the level of Tommy Hearns.

Comparing them at 135 is no contest. Duran would break Pac into little pieces. Besides, Roach/Arum would have never let Pac anywhere NEAR Duran.....lol

A very respectable performance of duran against hagler which as you said does show his level of fighting even if he lost .

The hearns loss is an embarrasment in that it was quickand lethal but not that bad considering it was hearns if you get me

That's the second time you've said that son.

And it's wrong. Pac was older in that fight than Tyson was when he won the world heavyweight title.

Pac was 20, almost 21 when he was KO'd by that body shot.

He has toughened up quite a lot since then, but he's not even in the general vicinity of Duran, and would be lucky to make it out of the third round.

(BTW,I'm a fan of Pac. He's one of my favourite active fighters, and he improves with each bout.)

    You don't see any difference?

Hearns was 7 inches taller than Pacquiao, with a reach that was 11 inches longer. And he was an orthodox fighter who preferred to fight at long range, compared to Pacquiao who fights at mid-range.

Hearns is the hardest P4P puncher in boxing history. Hearns was at his best weight, Duran was 3 divisions (and about 5-6 years) above his.

    Still don't see any difference?

    **** you're terrible sometimes.

Arguello eats Pac at any weight. Styles make fights, and Alexis is just WAY WRONG for Pacman.

At 135, Duran was vey big considering how broad he looks. He is not tall (5'7")yet his body is so wide for 135 that he comfortably fought higher than 135 and did not look like the smaller guy except against Hearns. That is why he is so effective at 135. Therefore, logic dictates that Duran would win against Pac because Pac at 135 is not a proven commodity. Pound per pound match-up (meaning that if Pac would have the same body size as Duran) however would be very competitive especially if Pac keeps on improving.

simma down, men! some of you are acting as if arguello, duran, and tommy hearns were b level fighters. just getting in the ring with these guys in their prime they already had a mental edge over you as they were the most feared men in their divisions, especially duran and hearns. duran and hearns easily matched pac in strength and punching power. pac is a top 5 favorite fighter of mine, but some of you make him out like he's He-Man. :-( if jmm rocked him several times, what ya guys think duran or hearns would do? i'm sure pac would be very competitive, and rock duran, but duran would only laugh at manny's best shots. he was boxing's bad boy way before tyson. am i speaking with boys or men here? i give manny his props but he hasn't stayed at 135 long enough to truly compare to duran esp at that weight. until then it's Duran baby!!! live with it!

that was vs a peak Leonard not peak Pacman, Duran would take Pac out + this mythical fight is at 135 lbs, Duran lost to SRL at 147, 2 yrs after his last LWT fight.

Thats not entirely true. Duran won his first title at 135, Pac at 112. Duran went up 3 weight classes from his first championship. I mention championship because by then they were a proper fighter good enough to win a title, not simply an "amateur pro" starting at 15yrs old.

By this comparison, You could say that would be quivalent to Pac going up to 122lb BW and beating one of the best guys there ever, which he didnt, but he went up to 126lb anyways and beat an ATG there. If you wanna compare by mere lbs, Duran went up 14lbs from 135, Pac went up 28lbs to destroy the best 140lb in recent years.

How is that comparable? Are we loosing perspective here? Pac at 154 would have jumped 10 weight divisions from when Pac first claimed his first championship...I believe 154 was only 3 weight divisions north of Durans championship weight.

i feel that this is what people always thinks of pacquiao. for a guy who even said that he would fight margarito at 147 after beating oscar, do you still think that he lacked confidence in himself?
