Maybe, circumstances are a bit different now.

They're both older and showing decline. It may be both their last ticket to an astronomical payday.

bob just confirmed that the Timmeh fight didn't do well. He explains that the networks aren't interested in putting the rematch on PPV since they don't think Timmeh can "do business".

Then he mentions how emmanuel needs to deal with some political elections in May.

Time for Floyd to start mentally preparing himself for a Sexy Sergio fight.

Manny is NOT his own man and relies on Bob to make his life decisions.

In my opinion, Bob arum has been to one to stall the fight to this point. Pacquiao looked less than spectacular in his previous two fights, so unless Pacquiao is doing a good bye fight I sincerely doubt Bob will allow it to happen. We all know Bob Arum, says one thing and does another. He's been been saying the same bull**** of how he wants the fight to but we all know he's only doing it to hype Pacquiao's other fights.

The problem is and has always been Pacquiao. Back in 2009 he was on even footing maybe even a head of Mayweather when it caame to negoicating terms of the fight. However he stopped fighting overmatched oppoents in bouts that he controled the terms of and has been exposed in his past two bouts. However he's still acting like it is 2009 when he first turned the fight down.

as i said in the other thread....bob and top rank did not spend all that time, money and effort building pac to just hand him over to floyd for annihilation. there was plenty of work that went into building pac. picking the right compromised competition....coming up with contractual stipulations that would guarantee victory....they put a lot of work into that. why would they hand him to mayweather so he can beat the bricks off him and kill their goose? bob ain't stupid. they're going to ride that gravy train til the wheels fall off...and even then, they won't make the floyd/pac match. floyd's the goose that got away...bob ain't interested in helping him make money and look good in the process.
