So I was having a debate the other day. Some guy I know said he thinks UFC fighters striking isn't that far behind boxers. I disagreed entirely and told him if you put Pac in a boxing match with GSP, it would be over within 60 seconds. He doesn't think PAc could KO gsp and would narrowly beat him.:lol:

He's an idiot. What's too bad is that so many other people (hard core fans and announcers) are too. They keep talking about "so and so mma fighters boxing is X good..." as if that meant anything. What they really mean to say is that so and so is good at, say, snapping his punches and has good footwork and moves his head, but of course the way you do that in mma is different and has different purposes than in boxing, the stance is different, the balance is different etc etc. There are now tons of mma fighters (GSP is the best example) who learned their "boxing" and "wrestling" as "punching" and "takedowns and control" in mma, not in individual sports. It confuses lots of morons (like your friend) when they talk about someone in mma having "great technical boxing" (like Dos Santos last night) when in fact they just have good punches for mma and in a real boxing match would get whipped.

Are you guys ****ing stupid!!?? you know what you are saying? It's like Pac fighting a super middle or light heavyweight, once GSP is hydrated. Just cos GSP is a welterweight, doesn't mean he's anywhere near Pac's weight class. A UFC welter weighs in at 170 and can be over 180 come fight night.

Limited or not, Do you honestly believe pac beats a guy weighing 180 on fight night???

GSP would destroy Pacquiao in an MMA match. People need to realize that boxing and MMA are two different sports.

Yes, I do. In a boxing match, GSP gets schooled by Pacquiao.

**** sake man! are you stupid! firstly Pac isn't that hard to tag, GSP isn't that slow, is one of the most athletic guys there are in MMA. Roach even praised his boxing ability over Anderson Silva. On fight night he wil have like a 40lb weight advantage.

I mean Pac says Martinez is too big and even he's not gonna weigh 180 on fight night. GSP has fought big strong guys like Tiago Alvez who walks around near 200lbs and cuts to welter, Fitch who is a big welterweight. They are talking about GSP against Silva at 185, and you are talking about GSP fighting a guy who just about makes 145??????

    :rofl I know, I'm talking ****

But pacquiao wouldn't do that bad. I think he could beat some top 10 rated MMA fighters if he fought the right fight. I was watching Dos Santos box the **** out of Shane Carwin last night and Manny doesn't have takedown defense like Dos Santos, but he could have success similar to him.

He mostly depends on his feet for defense anyways, so he'd be better off then most boxers

Pac should fight someone like Jose Aldo up there in the p4p top 3 or 4, he fights at 145 and is praised for his all round skill.
