Bearing in mind Hatton has thrown 140lb'ers around boxing rings for the past decade, and Pac hasn't, I think that is pretty clear. The opposite may prove to be true come fight night, but as this is a pre-fight discussion, the edge has to go to Hatton.
even on fight night, there's possibility that we can't gauge power if Hatton can't land a meaningful power punch... what's the use of power if you can't hit the target? .
What makes you think Hatton won't be able to get to Pacquiao? He is a far cry from the plodding Diaz or shot to bits, dead at the weight DLH. Both guys were handpicked, and he dealt with them as well as could be realistically expected. But please, don't go overboard.
pac is around 5'6" and so is hatton. hatton had already fought at 147 two times before though they were both unimpressive. hatton is well-settled at 140 already thus he has the advantage in terms of weight. size also is more natural for hatton while pac is just bulking up to fight at 140 or 147 which is not his natural frame. pac could still make 135 if he needs to but shedding off muscle mass could be disastrous.
Sorry bud you lost it when you said Pac has got a better chin Ill think you will also find pac is no more better at ring genralship then hatton, as hatton imposes his style on everyone except when cortez is reffing You think pac has more heart then hatton atsch when has hatton showed a lack of heart :huh Quality of opponents hmmm hasnt hatton fought tszyu, castillo, mayweather preety even really plus hatton has lost to only the p4p 1 who imo would beat manny anyway stepping up in weight. Manny has lost 3 times twice by stopage Manny has a lot of advantages but so does ricky :deal
yes, even PAC admitted that Hatton will be tougher than Diaz and Hoya where PAC came out unmarked at all in a one sided easy fights... .
I think a lot of people have been blinded by the hype that surrounds Pacman. I've no doubts that he is an excellent boxer but he is certainly not unbeatable and he hasn't had a live opponent north of 130lbs. Hatton will hit Pacman harder than anyone ever has and he will be a lot bigger than Pacman on the night possibly even out-weighing him by 10-14 lbs. Sure Pacman will have a huge speed advantage but Hatton only has to land one big shot and Pacman will be in serious trouble. It is also important to remember that Freddie Roach said after the De La Hoya fight "Pacman would never have overcome the size difference if this had been a prime De La Hoya". Ricky Hatton is prime. Hatton is a better boxer than people realise. He will create chances against a fighter who is daft/brave enough to stand toe to toe. One thing that has been overlooked is that Pacman is NOT the best fighter Hatton has faced and Hatton IS the biggest active fighter Pacman has faced. This fight IS 50/50.
