Point blank period with all the challenges at 135 he went for David Diaz LOL. Why no Guzman at 130 or even 126 for that matter. It is what it is Pac chose Diaz for a easy fight but I understand Hoya and Hatton for the paydays! No Campbell, Casa,Juan. Pac still has time for 140 but I doubt he fights anyone meaningful there either.

He is now fighting Cotto, more dangerous than all you just mentioned.

I agree a little. If he did fight and beat those fighters only someone with no credability could hate on that. As it stands now I think his last 3 fights were good wins against tailor made opponents. They were still good quality wins no doubt because he took risks going up in weight fighting stronger guys.

I get what you mean, but match making isnt as easy as it seems. As much as i dont believe that boxers are cowards, picking whom they wanna fight is not entirely up to them. We have money, promoters, lawyers, trainers, fans, etc... that come into play. And its not entirely a bad thing, its just that boxing cannot please everyone, but we cant deny that those boxers currently ranked at the upper part, did their jobs as fighters and somehow proved their worth.

If he had fought anyone other than Hatton at 140, people would be saying that he ducked the best. How can you make a case for anyone else being a better fight? Hatton is undefeated at the weight, only one loss to Floyd, the lineal champion and the one that everyone considered the legit champ and coming off an impressive win.

the fact that pacquiao ducked the elite lightweights makes this argument moot. instead of going up to lightweight and matching his skills with the best he opted to fight the weakest "champion" in david diaz. to me that tells me pacquiao had a little yellow streak running down his back. marquez on the other hand went straight for the top lightweights and KO'd them both.

plzzz if pac fought casamayor and campbell then the pac only fight old boxer-past prime bla bla bla comes to play.

He could beat anybody at 135-juan diaz-casamayor-campbell..valero etc
At 140 he could beat them too-bradley would be his toughest challenge but he could beat him.

The guy is being favored over cotto for pit sake. There was a thread last week that was talking about how pac would do against the 4 champions at 140 and majority of the fans that responded pick pac to beat all of them.

There's elite in the lightweight division? IF there is his name is juan manuel marquez who pac beat already. Casamayor is 37 yrs old who should have loss to santa cruz. Santa Cruz loss to guess who? David Diaz:lol:

that's what I don't understand, he DUCKED the top lightweights to fight a much bigger guy at 147 and going back down to 140 to fight the best there. all this after his date with the #2 P4P.

and to further cement his yellow coat, he stays above 140 to fight Cotto.

Surely this proves, that he really did not want any piece of Casa, Campbell and Baby Bull.

Why he chose to forego his legacy building fights in 135 and fight the bums north of LW just defies logic.

exactly lol:lol: I guess fighting a 37 yrs olds casamayor and campbell are more dangerous than a 28 yrs old cotto:lol:

    belfort,

if you think there isn't anybody at lightweight then why did pacquiao duck them and instead fight a no hopester in david diaz? and after beating diaz and instead of campaigning at lightweight and taking on the best he decided to flee town because marquez was coming after him. your points are moot because instead of pacquiao staying at a weight class and dominating it he quickly flees to higher weight classes and fights bums. oh and by the way, just because he jumps to a higher weight class means nothing because what he did to david diaz, oscar and hatton, marquez could have done just the same. pacquiao has done nothing marquez can't done as well. the only thing separating the two is a very controversial decision in which most of the philippine government officials and press thought pacquiao was the loser to marquez II.

To be fair, the purpose of the DLH fight (which happened only 6 months after Diaz) was a chance to gain mainstream exposure and $$$. If there was no DLH fight, then who knows what would have realistically happened.
