I'll take Tszyu. Reason being his insane abilty to find his distance and land his punch on the button. Pac comes in quickly possibly even stunnig Kostya ala Judah. However Kostya would be able to walk Pac right into his laser. great fight while it lasts thought. I think Pac managesto do better than any of the other fast southpaws Kostya fought by far
i can't agree. tszyu fought very few fighters who didn't stand infront of him - which is a recipe for disaster against a true puncher like tszyu - but pacman is one of those rare fighters who carries power and an unorthodox style that doesn't aloow his opponent to settle. tszyu needed to settle against his opponents.
Exactly. Lets not forget the most important point.... the only two times Tszyu was truly PUSHED in his career.... he lost both times. Not saying he had no heart, but he certainly did NOT have as much will to win as Manny does.
I've always said that a prime hatton gives any version of tszyu hell....tszyu is similar to marquez and did his best work past 30....
I see EXACTLY what you mean. Here is how I see it happening however. Pac jumps in throws punches and jumps back out. He generally jumps out at the same distance. Kostya is a MASTER of measurmentand timing. I see him seeing hte habit once or twice and walking him right into the straight right. And pac can have a chin from God and I still don't think that he can take the flush right on the button. greatfight anyway.
tszyu is dangerous only if he has time to set himself. this is true about most fighters and there genuinely aren't many fighters in the world who are skilled enough to dictate a fight for 12 rounds because they don't have the skillset and stamina to do that. guys like floyd and pacman are truly great fighters because they can do that - while guys like judah aren't because they can't maintain a tempo to dictate a fight - even though i think judah is the most naturally gifted fighter since roy jones. don't get me wrong, tszyu's win over judah was a great win, but it was judah's weaknesses rather than tszyu's strengths that won that fight.
Depends which Tszyu you pick to fight Pac. If it's the pre-Vince Philips, then his over-aggressiveness and porous defense will be hid downfall. Pac is much faster to the draw. I envision the same ending as Hatton, only a much longer fight. If it's the guy who mangled Judah, Mitchell and Tackie, then we have a toss-up fight.
Again I understand. I see Kostya being able to set himself when Pac hops out. I can see him wrapping him up when he jumps in. wrapping him up will allow a ref seperation. at the seperation he gets a chance to set. I'm not syanig its a garante, but I see it being the most likely
we should be talking about a prime tszyu if we're comparing him to prime opponents. tackie shouldn't come into the equation for me, at least. i think tszyu's fight against hector lopez was more meaningful than the tackie fight to be honest. it's easy to label fighters depending on how they performed against one opponent rather than the other but it seems too 'fairweather' to me to label fighters based on how well they did like that.
Tszyu was past his prime in those later fights. The PRIME Tszyu is the version than beat up Ruelas, and Gonzalez. But still... those guys are hardly Pac.
