Pac vs Tszyu @ 140

I agree, it's just that IMO, the old Tszyu has the experience of a cagey veteran and he will show some stuff that might take Pac by surprise.

 

Kostya went in thinking Hatton would simply run into the big right. He forgot that he needed to set himself and measure to do so. Had he simply used the wrestling to his advantage he still would have won by KO. Let the clinch happen, go lax in it instead of trying to outmuscle. let them seperate, use the left hook to line it up and launch it.

 

I think Pacquiao would be too much for KT, and imo 140 is Pac's best weight.

His defense is definitely a lot better. He has really good headmovement. He doesnt keep his hands up but he has good reflexes similar to vitali and his hard to hit. I am surprised no one else brought up defense/elusiveness. JMM gets hit far more.

I havent seen enough of tszyu to really make a pick... I definitely think Kostya would outbox him if they box, so I wonder if manny can beat him with pressure. Manny is getting better every fight with his head movement and effective use of pressure. He seemed to box more at 130-135. I think stylewise Kostya would school the Pac that JMM fought, I dont know about the current Pac who has gotten better with combination and jumping in and out of range (as he has had to do with DLH and Cotto to overcome the reach advantage)

 

Tszyu gets judged way too harshly on his loss to Phillips but I think Manny wins this fight by SD or UD against a prime Tszyu. Tszyu in bad shape (Phillips) gets stopped in a similar way to Cotto around the 11-12 rnd.

tszyu and oscar were in talks about a fight before he lost to phillips, and the truth is tszyu sized up to punchers with a good record (that he could outpunch) prior to that loss but few fighters with a pedigree.

 

Few fighters with a pedigree? I don't know if you have watched Tszyu's fights as they happened or retrospectively but Tszyu always took the best fights. He fought Juan Laporte in his 4th fight 4 months into his proffessional career. The only fight he truly missed was De La Hoya when he lost to Phillips. He didn't have a rivalry because he demolished his opponents. Tell me what other boxer was The Ring TOP10 rated in his weight class in his 1st year as a pro?

How easy is it is to discredit Barrera in a hypothetical match-up on his devastating KO loss to a C- level Junior Jones? I've never heard "but he lost to Jones" but I always hear "how good is he when he lost to Vince Phillips". It happens. It happened to Barrera and it happened to Tszyu.

Junior Jones was a helluva lot better than a C- fighter!! more like a B+ and I thought Barrera edged him out in the 2nd fight. Phillips was also a very good fighter on his best day,But Overall Barrera is a better fighter than Tszyu he beat better opposition than Tszyu and in a fantasy PFP matchup id take a prime Barrera by a late stoppage in a classic fight of the year type matchup. Just an overall better fighter than Kostya.

 

Junior Jones has KO losses to boxers like Darryl Pickney and John Michael Johnson. Also has KO losses to Ingle, McKinney. Phillips has only 1 legitimate TKO loss to Bazooka Quartey at WW. Yes they are comparable although I think Phillips is much tougher. Junior Jones was that bogey boxer for Barrera much like Barkley was for Hearns. Maybe Phillips was that boxer for Tszyu. That's all I'm saying. :bbb
