I know what you mean popularity = marketability, but when you have 2 popular fighters and one just came off a controversial win over an opponent the other dominated the timing is just utterly wrong. Its terrible. Manny was supposed to look magnificent vs Marquez. Of course it has alot to do with it. Both are equally popular, but when one wins a disputed decision he's hurting sales by making fans lose intrigue. You can count on many frustrated fans not buying the ppv fed up on bad decisions. I'm not sure if Konz is a believable character I wouldn't trust his Gargamel ass. He even causes discord among Team Pacquiao. They can be lies from Konz to make Manny look good.
It could quite be the case that Pacquiao's marketability took a hit, but until proven otherwise (that is after a subpar PPV), Floyd can't use that assumption to say that he deserves more. After-all, without actual proof it is an assumption, not a baseless assumption like the PEDS accusations, but an assumption nonetheless. If they negotiate for November and Pac's upcoming PPV#'s are significantly lower than Floyd...then Floyd can hold leverage then, but for now that's not the case. 50/50 or 55/45 to the winner were more than fair compromises on Pac's part....why Floyd didn't think so is the primary reason why it didn't fall through. As for Koncz...he is what he is: a yes man, a gopher, the dude that fetches manny's rice. At the same token he's the closest guy we have in understanding Manny's side of things. Manny ain't floyd, he's not loud, he's not confrontational...I hate to stereotype, but he's like you're typical quiet Asian dude. He's never gonna go to Tweeter and call Floyd a punk and say he's lying thru his teeth. Just not his mojo. So Koncz is all we have, and remember he was the guy that handed Manny the phone when Floyd called. So it's reasonable to assume that what he says pertaining to Pacquiao is representative of what Pacquiao is thinking.
Hey Cotto's my second favorite fighter so I really don't mind. And for the record, I feel Cotto has a good chance of beating Floyd.
Floyd's not necessarily interested in discussing a purse split because he's getting 100% of the revenuezzz He offered Pac $40M because, if you look at the Floyd/Ortiz fight business model, Mayweather financed the entire fight (with investors and partners of course) and took the proceeds from it. Victor Ortiz got a cheque of, $2M i think. Floyd took a purse as personal income (also deducted from total revenue in the form of an expense) as a guaranteed slice of the pie and the profits were split between the partners (i.e. Golden Boy Promotions, Al Haymon, Mayweather Promotions, etc). For example IF the profits were split 33%/33%/33% for 3 partners and the total profit was $100M from the Ortiz fight, Floyd would get $33M of the profit and $25M he earned as the fighter for a total of $58M while his other partners would make $33M each. Effectively, Floyd makes the most money. This is what he means when he says "Al Haymon got me the best deal in boxing...I'll probably be the highest paid ATH-A-LETE in the world next year."
You're one ******ed *****. Seriously, Gayrunner is just giving Pacquiao 40mil. Gayrunner will receive every amount that will be generated on the PPV. Pacquiao will not get anything other than the 40 mil.
