    It's on F-News.

For fear of being outsmarted by Floyd Mayweather Jr., Manny Pacquiao, by way of his lawyer Franklin Gacal, said in a text message late Tuesday night in the Philippines that the Filipino fighter will be “demanding a penalty of $10 million per pound or a fraction thereof over and above 147 lbs during the weighin” in relation to the March 13, 2010 fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Gacal, however, made it clear that the “penalty applies to both fighters”, meaning if Pacquiao fails to make weight, he will also be forced to cough out the same amount.
Against Juan Manuel Marquez last September, Mayweather was compelled to pay Marquez a total of $600,000 for coming in at 146 lbs. The agreed weight was 144 lbs. Mayweather went on to beat the overpowered Mexican on a lopsided 12-round decision. It is unclear if Mayweather will agree to what appears to be an over-the-top demand by Team Pacquiao. Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions are staging the fight and a formal annoucement is being awaited anytime this week. Both fighters are guaranteed a purse of $25 million each and their total earnings can go up to as high as $40 million apiece.

    I agree here 100%
10million dollars per pound? That is absolute bs, that demand is pure ludacris. Floyd would never agree to such a clause.

Good for Pac. Put PBF in a position where he can't pull the JMM bull****. If not whats to stop PBF coming in at 150-152?

Why would Floyd be threatened by such huge penalty? He can easily make 147 no problem. Also he has so much money he can burn just to increase his chances of victory.

Note that the penalty apply to both.

If this is true, then its bollocks. Fight is at 147lbs, Floyd will make 147lbs. ****sake its not as if Floyd goes on an alcohol & cake binge between fights, he keeps himself in shape.

$10M dollars for every lb over 147. This is boxing, not fcuking Estate Agents negotiating!

Floyd should put a side bet on the table!

How does Pacquiao have proof? That Mayweather fail to make 144 pound catch weight? When is the last time Mayweather fail to make the welterweight limit above 147 pounds? If he hasn't then how did Pacquiao proof it? Are you trying to be stupid?

Mayweather fail to make 144 pounds in a catchweight. The last time Mayweather fight under 146 pounds was 4 years ago. When has Mayweather ever fail to make the welterweight limit that isn't a catchweight?

B/c 10million dollars is absolute foolishness. This is a big money fights, but lets not et out of hand with all these outrageous financial demands. Floyd came in 1 fight over weight and all of a sudden its made to seem as if dude has some kind of track record of not making weight.
Floyd can make 147, the demand is still ridiculous.
Same arguement you use here is the same arguement people can use to why Pac should b drug tested, if he has nothing to hide then he should b **** n blood tested @ random times. But you guys are the same people that fight against that.
10mill is crazy. If any fighter should come in over weight as Reg said they should have 2 hours to lose the excess weight and make the weight. Period end of story
