hmm says... you do realize this is the only source on this news from a guy that is probably never even heard of...............we're just gonna beat the same argument over and over again....................... I'll just wait until the whole thing is finalized..........

the title of the article says:

    "Pacquiao PREFERS 143"
it doesn't mean they will finalize it at 143. Even though he said the catchweight isn't agreed upon yet... it could already be at 145... Who knows...

cotto is giving way too much away if the fight is at 143. pacquiao needs to grow some balls and step up to cotto's weight if he wants the fight so much.

Chances of Cotto to win at 143 would be even lower.

This reminds me of all the outrage going on during the Pac v Hatton negotiations...all for nothing.

I'll wait until things are official or at least coming from more than one source before I get all bent out of shape...all for nothing.

I still think that the fighter whose belt is on the line should decide the weight and the main attraction should decide the purse split.

Thats Pacman chance at beating Cotto have him weight drained. Everyone knows how shaky cotto was at 140 including the Pac camp. Cotto has been in some brutal fights past these couple years Torres, Judah, Mosely, Margo, and clottey so Cotto body nneds some physical rest which he has even said during the post clottey fight, but now he shows he is a tru champion wants agian and instead of resting he's wants to fight Pacman and now with his body physically worn they want him to move down to a near weight of 140 where he was weak thats crazy, if Cotto goes on with the fight is see a stoppage no later last 5 rounds is quickly see a weakend, larthargic, and old cotto

Do it at 145!! What PAC says is right...he isn't a WW. His Frame is built for Jr WW or Super Feather weight, but he's good enough with enough tools and natrual gifts to beat Cotto. I hope this doesn't stall the fight and I hope PAC agress to the 145 weight.

Let's stop using the he jumped so many weight classes BS. PBF has jumped to many weights, but is always criticized. 143 will hurt Cotto. Pac claims he beat the best Oscar at 147 so I don't understand all this weight issues. So fight the 140 fighters and stop calling out 147 fighters just to demand they drain themselves like Oscar.

I agree....If the fight is under 145 then Cotto should go ahead with Shane. Not that I don't think he could make the weight, but it just won't be a solid win if Cotto ends up loosing having to make the weight after they said 145 was fine.

I think 145 is Fair for everyone! Everyone knows this is a fight between guys who are vastly different in terms of size but PAC is the P4P king....he has to take anther risk against a fighter like Cotto if he wants to prove his critics wrong. It's a tough fight for both men...And Cotto will be bigger no matter what on fight night but PAC is going to have to put himself in a disadvantage if he wants these BIG fights witht he BIG names. Its a winnable fight for both men at 145...even playing field or as even as it can be without complicating the validity of the fight itself by the whole "catch weight" debate.
