I agree. People point out Pac was younger, stronger, faster, etc, but fail to point out Floyd was also younger, stronger, faster, etc.

 

Even Lampley, the #1 Pacquiao nuthugger, said Floyd would beat Pacquiao 100 times out of 100.

He could be a threat and still not win the fight. I thought he was just so explosive between 2007-2009, he would've been a tough out for FLoyd. But I have no doubt FLoyd would beat him at least 9 out of 10 times.

I always said his style is all wrong for Manny. He's too big, too smart, too elusive and way too technical for Manny to deal with. Manny needs fighters that like to engage or are stationary for the most part to look good.

I agree. This was always going to be a one-sided affair.

People site his punch output as being the difference. Across the three 12 round affairs against Marquez (his next best defensive opponent outwith Floyd) - Pac only averaged 612 punches thrown.

His punch output in the Mayweather fight was about where it would always have been. 100 punches less at the most.

That ignores the fact that Mayweather was much, much quicker in 2009 too - so he'd have landed even less, even if he could have thrown more.

He's always been the better boxer, but would Pac have caught him even cleaner and more often with the left? We've seen evidence he can do it and that Floyd can't hurt him in return.

 

Five years ago the fight would of been really good. Pacquiao would of put pressure forcing Floyd to fight. Pacquiao of today just wasn't able to do that on the night. I believ Floyd would always win, but if pacquiao was able to press more, then it would of made it a more fascinating fight to watch.

 

He's as serious a threat now as he was then, Pacquiao will always be a threat to Floyd and Floyd to Manny but strategy is imperative, everyone with a brain knew floyd would never attempt to walk him down like the rumour was suggesting.
