I mean Winky is widely regarded as one of the best 154 lbers ever right? And Pacman is fighting at 154 so i think you would have to favor Winky. Winky went all the way up to 170. He got schooled by Hopkins but he was never really hurt and threw a ton of punches. And he fought Taylor at 160 and took some hard, right hands and was never visibly hurt. So we are talking about a big disparity in natural size, yet, the skill level is not that far apart.
PAC could outwork him i think. blast away in a clottey like fashion. When ever Winky tries to open he eats a combo. Pac is all wrong for winky.
also am i missing something with Winky. The guy was good, but i don't get the fuss really. He beat Mosley, but Mosley was only ever a great Lightweight/and maybe welterweight.
I disagree. Winky had a good workrate as well and would come forward applying educated pressure. Mosley was an offensive whilrwind but looked like **** against Winky. Also he wouldn't sit in his shell like Clottey he would counter Pac when he opened up and make him pay. Wright is very strong an would back Pac up. Not to mention his jab would give Pac hell and he would have no answer for it Pac isn't hard to find. Pac would get busted up in this fight by a bigger man and better boxer.
Yeah you are. He beat a prime Vargas. Well, he didn't officially "beat" him but i think he did enough. He also "beat" MW champion Jermain Taylor at 160. He completely toyed with Tito, which is one of the most dominant performances this decade. Also beat a past his best Quartey. Not to mention his schooling of Mosley. And Clottey and Winky are different fighters outside of their turtle shell defense. Winky's weapon is the jab, which he is always throwing. Clottey is an ultra conservative fighter who tries to make every punch count. You don't think one of the best jabs of this generation would have a big factor in this fight?
So I guess Pac is the second coming of Pea Whiatker now?atsch Hell slow ass Margo was hitting him with the jab when he threw it. Winky lands his jab on pac like rain on a tin roof.:deal
I said both guys were damn near unbeatable in their prime. These guys just don't lose. I didn't say they were completely unbeatable, as every fighter has a style that is completely wrong with them. Also, I've always been more of a Pac skeptic for years, so he's far from my idol
Wait when is Winky's prime? Losing to green-as-**** Vargas? Getting a gift against Sam Soliman? Losing to nobody Harry Simon? Getting knocked down 5 times and losing to Julio Cesar Vazquez, who got schooled by midget Whitaker? I don't buy the Winky ATG at 154 thing. He's very good but I think Pacquiao would outpoint him.
I never said Pac wouldn't get hit. He'll get hit that's for sure. He's just going to throw 4 punches for every jab Winky throws. Just like everyone else, Winky will only see a blur. I didn't even see most of Pac's punches last Saturday. I would just look at Margarito's head snap back. Yes, I agree with you Winky would land his jab on Pac like rain on a tin roof. Pac would also land on Winky like a Pacific Typhoon, as HBO and Sky Sports would put it.
Winky is not a guy you're going to land on often cleanly. Pac's punches will be blocked and he will get countered. If you think Pac will bust up and land on Winky on a high % I have nothing else to say. Winky is a technician, he's a boxer and he's bigger, longer and stronger than Pac is. Pac wouldn't get past Winky's jab nothing he throws would bother Winky. He would get walked down and beat up.:deal
Best post. :deal It is what it is, but I think many people believe he was robbed in the Vargas fight and the rematch with Mosley was very close where a draw wouldn't of have been out of the question. I don't think Mosley got schooled the second time around and he basically came with the same gameplan, just basically fought more aggressively.
Lost a close decison to Vargas in a fight many thought he won. Vargas was the house fighter and was suppose to be the next best thing. He beat Soliman that fight. Not even up for it and still won. Simon?? Are you kidding me? He was robbed in that fight because of some shady judging changing scorecards. Vazquez No shame in losing to Vazquez who was a legiot champ at the time and he was young. Also Pac was koed twice while he was coming up but I don't see you bringing that up.:deal Winky is criminally underrated in general because most didn't like his style but he was damn good and a sure fire ATG at 154 and one of the best fighters of his era. Winky puts a hurting on Pac's ass.
