Clottey has good speed and combinations in flashes, but his stamina is below average and he's so basic compared to Pacquiao. Manny can outwork him to a decision win. If there's one thing Clottey is, it's durable.

that is one of clottey's weaknesses, lack of activity and too defensive minded but he brings a lot of advantages against pac also. I think the main reason pac and his team made a go signal of this fight is because of that especially with the margarito fight but whats different here is i don't think pac would overwhelm clottey like he did cotto because there is a big gap between them in terms of toughness, chin, durability

edit: on a side note also, pac stop cotto due to accumulation of punishment, its not like he had one punch power and please don't mention hatton lol

If the fight is at 147, we can throw out the results of the Pac-Cotto fight.

Clottey will weigh-in at 147 and show up the next day at 160+. And he will be strong as an ox. His chin, his strength, his defense, and most of all his psychological balance will be extremely superior to that of Cotto.

He has his weaknesses, such as workrate, footspeed, and stamina, but his counter-punching ability, timing, ability to throw combos, and ability to frustrate any opponent makes him the worse possible choice for Pac.

I would rate this win higher than his last three. Props to Manny if he takes this one.

No doubt clottey is more durable but If this fight happens, I see it playing out were Pac throws three to four punch combinations which are blocked by clottey who will just plod around shacking his head saying it didn't hurt. I don't see anything he does that will trouble Pac. Also he has the tendency to hop when he throws his hooks which could lead to knockdowns by Pac because hes quick enough to do it.

i don't know if he could knockdown clottey, plus he brings something new to the table unlike pac's past opponents. He's got good counter punching ability and also a longer reach than pac

None of these will be a factor because he stays covered up to long, and he refuses to fight for 12 full rounds. His counter-punching ability is severely overrated. :patsch

    C'mon man...

He clearly is not African American, but I think he passes the "paper bag" test. At least in my book.

    Strength won't be a factor?
    Size won't be a factor?

Then why does team Pac make such a big deal about weight? (i.e. $10m/lb. against May, and 145 against Cotto) Clottey's size and strength should absolutely be a concern of Roach. He will weigh much more than Oscar, Cotto, Hatton, or Floyd would dream of weighing on fight night.

You couple this with his chin and durability, and Pac is in for a long night. Period.

Remember, Pac didn't put Cotto to sleep. He overwhelmed him with an accumulation of punishment. Clottey is much more durable than Cotto. He had a Compubox record of punches thrown and landd on him against Margarito, and came out completely unscathed. Pac ain't puttin him to sleep.
