when the **** did I say unbeatable?

I think Pac will win a close but clear UD but it would definitely go the distance and I think Pac will take a more punishment than he bargains for.

Clottey will be a tougher fight for him than Cotto.

This is a very hard fight on paper and im sure it will be harder in the ring!! Clottley took cottos hard shots without too much problem apart from a flash knockdown and with his high guard and defence it should be tough for pac and with pac giving up possibly 20 pounds or so, its even harder

You didn't, but there are so many people on this forum who are in awe of Clottey and I don't understand why.

Was it when he beat a shot Corrales? Or when he beat Judah on after the headbutt / clash of heads? Perhaps it's when ran head first at Baldomir and got himself disqualified?? Or when he lost to Margarito? Didn't he lose the first few rounds here against a notoriously slow starter?

He is coming off a loss to a man Pac just beat. He's a tough guy with quick hands but he has slow feet and feigned injury against Cotto - admittedly he was sent to the canvas.

I just don't get the fuss with Clottey. Pac may be made to work, but he is by no means a "fool" for fighting a tough but beatable man. :deal

Dispense with the insults straight away. Are you incapable of articulating yourself without profanity or do you think that calling me an "asswipe" and then the great arguement of 'well you don't know anything about boxing' adds weight to your point?? What was your point anyway?? :huh

amazing thread. the voice of reasoning sounds like the rants of children and the"your not a boxing fan if you dont agree with what i say, listen to me,me ME" tish.

clottey is as much a plodder just as any pressure fighter out there. you would be saing the same thign about prime tyson. it doesnt mean anything. anyways
he cuts the ring off pretty well, has fast hands, good punch and very good array of punches (arguebly more so than manny). what i think makes him dangerous is the weight advantage, airtight defence and his abilty to back guys up. he did it to margo and with cotto 2 VERY agressive infighters.

also im still not convinced that manny is good on the backfoot. last time it happend was against morales. we know manny has improved but

his handspeed and agility and timing makes him hard too tie up and to know what he is doing. he will beat clottey to the punch but i can see a sort of water breaking on cliffs scenario. he might win the rounds but just not too effective.

those thinking clottey will get sparked because he got pushed over with a jab from cotto are missing the picture. clearly wasnt hurt.

but that defence will prolly put him in a position where he can be stopped because he doesnt throw and is trapped agasint the ropes. ala calzaghe - manfredo. actually the way that cotto just threw 50 odd punches and ended up with clottey in a corner, at that point some refs would of stopped it.

i think pac would win but clottey has alot of tools that havent been presented to manny before.....especially at this weightclass.

close brutal battle, I hate to say it.....Pac by close controversial decision.
Clottey stands in front of his opponent too much, stationary target for Pac's speed. He seems to have trouble getting off when the other guy is throwing

I can see Manny possibly being overwhelmed because he will have to punch probably three times as much with 2/3s of the punches being blocked. Clottey will be in front of him all the time and he will have to keep punching to keep Clottey from coming out of that turtle shell. Josh Clottey's is teak tough too. I still see Manny able to win a UD or SD. Knowing Arum the judges will be bought off anyway.

Arum comes out like a rose either way still controlling the WW division.

Clottey does not count as a "black" fighter. He is a black man, but Nate Campbell means slick black athletic boxers e.g., Mayweather, Judah, Bradley, Corely, etc... Not saying those guys would whip Pac, but Clottey does not fight in that style.

Have you even watched any of the fights that you mentioned? He cut Judah with a left uppercut, download the fight and watch it and they showed the replays clearly showing it. He WON the first 4 rounds against Margarito, everybody who has seen the fight knows that, he then broke his hand and did well to finish. A lot of people believe he beat Cotto and he was beating Baldomir with ease.

Clottey is too defensive to beat Pac. His style works on bigger slower fighters b/c he can get his punches off. But Manny is too fast for him to win. Clottey does not have a big punch and his hand speed is good but he dont have the output. The way he fights plays into Pacs hands. He goes into his defensive shell and comes forward with no movement or footwork. Another style pick by Roach.

i agree, people have failed to notice or just don't really know **** about clottey that they even think just because he beat cotto the guy pac beat that he has no shot at all

if pac beats clottey and at 147 with no ****in catchweights and no rehydration clauses then i'd give that win in a much higher regard than any of his past 3 wins.

good point bro and i could also see that, but i think if he follow a good gameplan he could beat pac especially with his jab and counters. What i dont know is about the defensive part, i think he could walk through pac's punches and trade with him.
