What was JMM able to do that troubled Pac so bad, that Floyd cannot? What is stopping Floyd from doing EXACTLY what JMM did, only Floyd is bigger and faster so he will score more and win the fight?
Pac has physically changed since the 2008 fight against Marquez. If you can't see that, you are blind. He would KO JMM if they fought today. Still think Floyd will win, but not anything like what he did to JMM.
Marquez let his hands go more. However, Mayweather's selective nature will probably work to his advantage. I heard him say years ago that he doesn't like to throw certain punches unless he feels his opponent isn't ready for it. Pretty much everytime Manny makes a mistake, Mayweather will make him pay.
so let us all tell floyd that he has all the advantages in this fight so that he would not worry too much on how good pac has become since moving to the higher weights.
a little sarcasm about floyd's OSTD but i somewhat answred your thread indirectly. though i think that the pac that fought jmm at 130 was already a refined verion of pac, moving-up in weight has made him more comfortable. 147 could be the limit since all his prospect opponents there are bigger than him. but still, with pac's improvement, he can beat the top ranked welters there. as for jmm-pac, marquez has shown that he cannot be afraid of pac's left and would get his own right to check pacquiao. floyd has shown in his last fight that he still has the tools to fight offensively when needed but lets see if it is against someone who is faster, younger and has more stamina than mosley with some decent power to boot. i agree that floyd should be the favorite since he has all the advantages in this fight, height, reach, and styles but like it or not, pac is the only remaining top welter for floyd to fight. we cannot just give him the win without fighting it out. if that's the case, we are better off discussing fantasy matches.
Floyd can do everything JMM can do, and do it better, however you have to be pretty dim if you can't see that Pac has become a better boxer since the JMM fights. Thats not to say I don't think PBF will win because I do, but making comparisons to previous fights or opponents is silly really. Every fight between two boxers is different. But if you purely started this thread to encourage bods to knock pacquaio well I hope it gives you all the satisfaction you'd hoped.
Different situation with PAC at 135 3 or 4 yrs ago vs Manny at 147 now. JMM at the time was operating at his highest level and at a weight he was at his best. Manny was operating at a very high level but was still evolving and improving. Manny has more demensions and is more dynamic right now and he needs to be this to beat Floyd. Manny has a style and equal ability with regards to talent, reflexes and athletic capabilities. The styles conflict...they are gonna clash. Who's style will be more effective is the big question. BOTH have shown weakness and vulnerability to the style each one have so it's an interesting match up that is gonna be hard to predict. You can have an opinion on who you think will win but NO ONE is for certain.
Floyd had an injury in the first fight, he proved he could beat Castillo rather one-sidedly in the rematch. And focus on the thread question please, this isn't a **** fight....just curious what people picking Pac to win have to say :deal
I don't JMM did much in the second fight, I think it was more of an issue for Manny being weight drained. Cotto fights with a relatively similar style to JMM, and Manny destroyed him, which leads me to believe that JMM at 140 or 147 gets demolished by Manny.
