Well, Pac is the reason the Wild Card Gym makes money hand over fist when most boxing gyms struggle to stay afloat. He's a walking, talking ad for Roach's business pursuits, sad as that sounds. But what can you say? Roach nearly turned into a broke, burned-out journeyman. If not for Eddie Futch teaching him how to be a great trainer, Roach would be sitting in a state-funded home, drooling all day as his Parkinson's slowly killed him.

Roach is an excellent matchmaker. At this point, he knows who to put Pac in with and when, and under what conditions, to ensure the risk is mitigated to the fullest extent possible. The problem is, he can't seem to keep his mouth closed about it, and he's made the pattern too obvious.

1lehudson & Punisher...SPOT-THE ****-ON!!!!:good But for the record, (not trying to **** on both of your post) I have been saying THE EXACT SAME **** - WORD FOR ****ING WORD for the last 18 months. The Long-time Knowledgeable Posters that are also Pacquiao Fans are well aware of this. Those "Newbie" Posters who only comes in here to Worship Pacquiao have NO Clue about what Roach and Arum have been doing...while anyone with a working brain can easily see whats been happening.

And Punisher, I created a thread awhile ago (Last Year, I think) Titled: "Is Freddie Roach a Great Trainer or a Great Matchmaker?"

And let me guess...you've been labeled a 'racist' ever since, with the avatar of Cornel West only reinforcing this in the minds of some of these simpletons. :verysad

Pacquiao could make 140 no problems. NONE. Ariza and Roach have said repeatedly he's a natural Jr. Roach trying to force Bradley, Marquez, Alexander, ect, up to 147 is some scary **** when they know damn well Manny has the massive edge regardless. Talk about insecure.

emmanuel not deciding who he fights or doesn't fight is another big myth about him. You could see his face in the audience at the Cotto-Clottey fight. It's where he decided he can beat Cotto.

No doubt. Remember when Roach and Arum were considering a Yuri Foreman bout for him, and Manny said he was "too tall"?

Yet, Margarito and Oscar were the same height. Hmmm.... :think

I don't think much of Freddie as a manager but he's really not one. He speaks more on Manny than a typical trainer would for one of their fighters but he's got a unique relationship with PAC.

There's really nothing Freddie has done WRONG with regards to how PAC's career has played out thus far. I mean seriously.....if you are looking for an example of poor management/promotion look and Don King with Mike Tyson.

In all honesty Fred there's not many people out there who are thinking to themselves that "Manny's scared to take a "real" challenge and fight a bigger, better, and far more primed guy in a legit weight class".

Most are taking it at face value simply becuase there's been so much consistancy in Manny's progression northword as he's move up. It's difficult for PAC to do much better than he's had and his management/team has got to be acredited to at least some of his success where everyone knows their role with the same ultimate goal....helping Manny be at his best and finding him opportunities to capture greatness.

I really don't think Roach wants PAC to fight JMM again....simply b/c he wouldn't get credit for the win. JMM is now seen as too small, old and unable to operate above 140 at an elite level. I doubt the fight gets made if the fight is at Welter Weight. Bob knows that would be a hard fight to sell after what Floyd did to him at 146....at this point JMM can't beat PAC in my opinion. I think that will be clear when he has his fight this weekend. I think JMM wins but has a rough night. he's not the fighter he use to be but he's at his best weight.

Nah brah....sooooo, you are trying to say that "risk" has somehow been "mitigated" by facing men like JMM, EM, MAB, DLH, Hatton, Cotto, Clottley, Marg ect, ect. ect?:huh

Sure styles make fights but ALL of those guys have vastly different styles homie. Not one of them have similar styles at all. Not all of them are african american which is what upset Floyd fans are claiming PAC is avoiding. But Nard has a different style than Floyd...Shane has a different style than Tim Bradly or Andre Ward or Zab Judah.

My point is simple.....PAC has NOT gotten to this level by AVOIDING Risk!:verysad He's got to this level by placing himself at risk time and time again with consistant results. And he's progressively gotten better while maintaining the integrity of his wins by facing TRUE challenges.

Yeah...YURI FOREMAN. He was "too tall". Remember? They sent Cotto in to take care of that business.
