What are some examples of this huge gap in skills between Loma and Packey?

And I will answer this ... I would give Loma, a with a current LW record of 5-1, the same chance against Packey as I would against Mayweather .. why wouldnt I? Packey has a better record than May with more than double his wins and has Plenty of experience of fighting on the road ... His best weight was 139 .. so he often fought in both divisions at the 133 and 147 limits ... McFarland also came out of retirement on a 2 year layoff went up in weight for the first time in his career( 153 pounds) and fought a prime Mike gibbons to a draw .. the same Gibbons who beat Greb a year and a half later .... so yeah , Packey was one of the very best imo

I’m not really interested in getting into this debate right now. The whole modern fighters vs classic fighters comparison has been discussed a million times, and pretty much everyone has already made up their mind in terms of where they stand on it. Like I said earlier, it’s just my opinion, and I still respect the opinions of those who feel differently. I’ll just say that for me it mostly comes down to the eye test. Lomachenko looks like a more skilled fighter on film to me than Packey McFarland does. I still think McFarland was a great fighter and I’m not taking anything away from his accomplishments.

I don't want to create another debate, but saying that someone is more skilled "because it's clear for anyone", when it isn't, is not the best argument to say the least.

I'd never say that Lome stands no chancr against older boxers, it's just silly. That said, McFarland looks fantastic on the tape and to me he'd be able to compete with anyone at his weight - especially with smaller gloves.

Seriously, why people always have to turn any thread like this into "modern vs oldschool" debate? Why don't you simply look at Packey and try to analyze what you see without thinking about him like an old dinosaur or glorified legend?

well what do you expect?? For someone to say that Mayweather and Loma are for some reason more athletic than boxers who preceded them is about as dumb as it possibly gets . I wonder if that means that they are also more athletic than Roy Jones, Muhamad Ali, Harry Greb, Eder Jofre or SRR etc etc ?? I mean Loma is really climbing the ranks fast as the most athletic boxer of all time with a 17-2 record, hell he's barely got is feet wet or just popped his cherry ,, however you want to put it

You quoted me as saying “because it’s clear for anyone”…where did I ever say that? I made it clear that this was my personal opinion only.
