Entered Canastota at a suitably early 1992. (A date way, way, way too early for Norton to get in.) They currently record McFarland with a 64-1-5 record with 47 KOs and 34 NDs, not quite as imposing as what BoxRec displays for him at present. Hard evidence for his alleged loss to Dusty Miller remains elusive. Source documentation from the microfilm of a 1903 or 1904 Chicago newspaper might be necessary to settle the issue. Seems strange to think he could take nearly two years off, then shade an active Mike Gibbons in the opinion of many observers. His record may still have a few gaps in it.
