Has anyone ever found a report of his loss, or seen first hand information on it?
Did McFarland ever comment on it?

1903-11-17 The Chicago Daily Tribune (Chicago, IL) (page 8)
"Dusty" Miller was given a decision over Eddie McFarland on a foul

1903-11-17 The Cincinnati Enquirer (Cincinnati, OH) (page 4)
"Dusty" Miller got the decision over Patsy McFarland in the fifth round on a foul, the latter throwing Miller to the floor.

1905-03-21 The Daily Northwestern (Oshkosh, WI) (page 3)
Harry Stout, the former manager of Otto Sieloff, is in the city, visiting George W. Athearn. He will remain for a few days. Mr. Stout says that the boxing game is on the decline and good boxers are scarce. He says that the ones who are any good are too high priced for the promoters. Stout is managing a promising featherweight by the name of Paddie McFarland. "Paddy" has had fifty fights with only one decision against him and this fight was lost on a foul to "Dusty" Miller. Since then McFarland knocked Miller out in three rounds.
