Two ATG's with great handspeed and footwork. McFarland's record is immaculate and proven. Whitaker's has a few dubious blemishes and a fall off later in his career. Who do you have over 15?

Are the cross era matchups only of interest in the heavyweight division? Are these fighters lacking in skill, talent and results? Is the boxrec site jammed up and not allowing proper conclusions to be formed?

Whitaker was brilliant for me. I know of the brilliant record of McFarland but the only fight i’ve Seen was the clips of the gibbons bout. I’ll look to see if there is more on him later. I’m hard pressed to pick against Whitaker whom i’m Very high on.

McFarland has a great resume I just honestly don't know enough about him and I never really watched Pea as he bored me. I'd like to hear some more people in the know add there opinion.

Packey looks superb to me against Welsh and I thought he looked top against Gibbons despite being slightly second best, albeit against an ATG middleweight. Reminds me of Benny L and a bit of Jim Driscoll with his footwork, balance, generalship and driving overhand right. He'd be the slightly bigger man naturally against Pea, but how a fight between them would go is anybody's guess imo. Neither faced anyone like the other really so it's wildly open to interpretation with a lot of possibilities on the table. Both were geniuses obviously but I think we need more footage of McFarland to really make an educated guess.
