It depends on how good each fighter has actually become at this point. PacMan made mincemeat of Diaz and Dela Hoya, but the flip side to that is how bad these guys really were.

Hatton's last fight against Malignaggi was very dominant, flip side is that Paulie really did not have anything at all to compete against Hatton.

I tend to think along the lines of what Roach said in his recent interview. Bottomline is that these two fighters when pushed to their respective limits will fight according to what they really are. Will Manny be able to stick to his game plan, and will Hatton use whatever Sr has taught him, when they have no margin for error?

 

Its always good. you can really tell how Pacquaio and Hatton as actually got better. 30yrs old is not old either

Normally I would not cross the street to watch hook and hold hatton, the worlds greatest midget wrestler, but I'm actually thinking about buying this one.

 

It has the makings of a fight of the year. Hope both guys bring their A game, so us fans can get to see an amazing fight.

Interesting to see the Mayweather-style of padwork with Hatton, Ricky learning a lot of new defensive techniques. I also think he's learning how to effectively tie up and then land punches on the inside, put the opponent off balance and other kind of stuff Little Floyd used against him. It's very important to be able to get on the inside and stay on the inside not letting PacMan get out or grab and kill the action, and Floyd has a lot of old school tactics to teach. I think Hatton was always open for improvement and learning, he just reached Graham's limits like 6 years ago.

I didn't like Hatton still moving to his right after stuff like padwork, working on the punching bag, etc. What he does is to use headmovement and pick up some shots with his gloves, and land combos in return, which is good, but he needs to move to his left after that instead of moving into the range of PacMan's left.

Am I really the only one seeing this? It's like if they were preparing for a orthodox fighter, not a southpaw.

 

Pac will be in first, CONSTANTLY,buzz, then out not allowing Hatton to settle.Ricky does have a punchers chance. I won't surprise if he wins by KO At 140 this is Rickie's territory.It could be Hatton is just too strong. If Pacquia can be first and move and make hatton pay when bores in like-he-do. I doubt, the hitman would do a J.M.M and counter if all else fail if he can't cope with getting constantly peppered.He will bully his way in and Pac will be in sniper mode all the way. Placing straights down the pipe, side step counter his wide looping punching.

 

fight of the year so far is JMM-Diaz and that will be hard to beat and Pac-Hatton will be too one sided to be FOTY.
