I'm not whining about PBF dropping down to 140 I feel it's a better weight for him.

The reason why PBF chose to fight Hatton at 147 and not 140 is that Hatton declined to fight him back in 2005 when both were at 140 he had his chance for the fight at 140 blame hatton.:deal
Not only that but Hatton called him out and PBF was fighting at 147 PBF was on top and Hatton was the challenger it would make no sense for PBF to drop down and take that fight.

 

I know your not mate, you just wanna see a good fight. I'm sure though you have seen many fans saying the fight should be at 147 as Floyd may be weight drained at 140.

Sure Floyd was at 147, but if he was naturally 140lb then he should be able to drop down to 140 easy. I'm sure he would rather Hatton fans didnt have an excuse for Hatton not being at his best weight + he would take the lineal 140lb title with it. Pac just had a fight at 147, he won convincingly but he is not a natural 147lbr therefore he is able to drop to 140 with ease. Floyd would have struggled to make 140, therefore he is a natural 147lbr. The only time he ever looked small to me was when he faced DLH at 154. Pac to me looked small even against the likes of David Diaz & Corrales.

 

Judah is not a HOF...you have to beat great fighters to get in there and Judah hasn't done that. He beat a good fighter in Spinks. Judah-HOF? Just doesn't go together. Heck Hamed has a much stronger case and even his entry for HOF is being disputed by many...though I think he should be a lock in.

 

Dude....Hall of Fame isnt as hard to get as a title like ATG. There are MANY hall of fame fighters who were not GREAT like the Ray Robinsons, Durans or Ali's of the boxing world...but guys like Carmen Bassilo who NEVER beat a great fighter, but won world titles and faught some of the greats of his time made it to the hall of fame.

Judah never beat GREAT fighters but faught many and beat a lot of very good fighters. Believe me....he's in the hall of fame....or will be. Gatti for christ sake will make it to the hall. #1.....there are few GREAT fighters in ANY era of boxing. I mean TRULY great fighters/boxers. But there are MANY boxers who make the Hall of Fame. To win a world title at the pro level is a HUGE accomplishment...but that doesn't make you great. You don't need to be great to be in the hall of fame. Great compared to the average man YES....but to their own PEERS who perform at a higher level and acomplish far more...no..not great.

although Pac would make the fight intresting like Hatton did i still think you will be able to see the clear cut winner.......PBF's toughest fight i dont think will happen unless he fights Mosley period other than that Castillo was his toughest and will be his toughest.

 

Gatti makes it in the whole of fame because of his popularity and the fact that he's been involved in so many fight of the years. Nothing stands out about Judah..nothing. Hamed would be in the HOF because he has a very good resume, ATG power and the most popular little fighter in modern era outside Pac.

Its how you are remembered by, wether its a great battle with a great fighter, your popularity or resume. Judah im afraid will be remembered as a gatekeeper. I would be surprised if he is remembered in 10 years time in that regard to even be considered for HOF.

I never said he fought Corrales. Im saying guys like Corrales are LW's, for years people have been saying how the likes of Castillo/Corrales are too big for Pac/Morales/MAB/JMM, now Pac is suppose to be bigger than them as he is a WW? Even LW is not Pac's peak weight in terms of physical prime, his power was alot more devastating at 122/126 than it was 135...yet alone 147. Again this goes back to guys like Duran, your body may go up in weight, doesnt mean its your natural weight. PBF's natural weight is 140-147.

Heck Pac could build up his muscle and go up to MW and weigh more than Pavlik. The guy is 5'6...

I would bring up threads of PBF-Pac but search is down right now. Just go back to threads asking what weight Pac-PBF should be at. Most said a catchweight of 143...why 143 exactly if PBF is natural 140lbr? Some said 147 as they want both at peak weight. PBF is a natural 147lber, if he was better at 140lb then he would have fought Hatton for the lineal 140 title at 140.

 

Floyd could still make 140, just like Manny could still make 135.

When fighters become "names" that command big time money, they mysteriously lose interest in draining themselves. I don't blame them at all. Also, Manny and Floyd are the kinds of talent that don't depend on the size of an unnaturally lighter weight to dominate their opponents.

Would it be easy, no. But come on, you can't tell me Manny at 5'6 really can't get down to 135 anymore. And Floyd obviously "lifted" himself up to 150+. Dude put on serious muscle immediately after the Gatti fight, and it wasn't all just "maturation".
