he was around the weight about a month before the fight. by saying that he was drained, oscar would be drained for about 1 month going into fight night.

Yep the guy was older and he was going down in weight. Oscar thought he could make the weight but his body has another thing in store for him.

its a good theory. where did you hear it from?

Any other examples where a fighter hasn't been able to put on a single pound in a day and a half.

Roach thinks he was cos he saw uv marks. I think they were cos of his drug taking.

name an example of a drained fighter unable to put on any extra weight for the fight. Cos i can't find any except Oscar.

his camp ****ed-up. why would they try to outspeed the pacman by going in too lightly? they should have kept the weight and make the weight one or two weeks before the fight. that way, he could return to his usual fight night weight. but imo, even a heavier oscar would get tagged easily by pacquiao that night who followed a well disciplined approach in engaging oscar by darting in and out as soon as he connected taking oscar piece by piece until the stoppage.

What you fail to realize is that it doesn't matter if he could or couldn't put weight on the damage was already done.:deal He was in no condition to be in a boxing match that night.

it was roach who said it. it doesn't mean it's a fact. oscar was already around 150 pounds 1 month before the fight.

Dlh was obviousy drained as hell and possibly had been substance abusing close to the time of the fight

Still PAC did what he was supposed to do and can't be blamed for Oscar not being in shape

it does sound plausible, i still think that he trained for speed and cut himself down to 145. So he wasn't drained he was just to declined to deal with a fighter at mannys level.

Any other examples of fighters its happened too?

He could have been 143 a month before the fight it sill does not mean his body is at a healthy weight to box, it showed in his face and in his performance, the weight was obviously an issue for him

It is incredibly incredibly rare for a fighter to be able to cope with goig down to a weight he hasn't fought at in close to a decade, especially at his age and with his drug/alcohol problems

and it was not a state of being drained. his team placed a strategy that emphasized on speed so they did cut down on weight ahead of time. a drained fighter usually stays heavy until the final two weeks and they would drastically cut on fluids to remove the water weight.

Oscar was around 145 weeks before the fight.. want proof?

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/weblog/news.php?p=17916&more=1

Oscar got more time to adjust on to being 147 on fight night. those IV marks could have been there weeks before the fight during oscar's training days, but those iv marks werent used on fight night.

anyways, here's the transcript of the meeting at the oscar hedquarters, thanks to jack.
