The Top Rank-GBP deal signings, the official, local TV coverage network flip-flopping, letting himself be "used" by dirty politicos, and some other stuff that I dont like.

I'm actually more of a fan of the mid 1990s to early 2000s version of Pacquiao. When he was just a locally/regionally known little fighter. A crazy young kid with big dreams.

But I still support him a lot these days.

He's the kind of guy that would bend to pressure of a good salesman caught up in the moment. lol. I think he's too easily manipulated.

MAB made 8 successful defenses of his 122lb crown, and defeated the top 2 Featherweights in the world back to back, both of whom were P4P rated. Barrera was dominant in his career, he just didn't have to come up against the likes of David Diaz, and weight drained fighters to stay there. He always took on the best, and it's actually a credit to how good 126lb MAB was that it took the very very best too dethrone him, a fighter who is actually considered the best in the world 4-5 years on.

After the Jones defeats, the only three fighters to beat MAB were Morales, JMM, and Pacquiao. Let's disregard the Khan fight. MAB lost because he came up against PRIME all-time greats. No more, no less.

You must take things into perspective. Manny is not particularly well educated (even today he's just not an intellectual.) I don't approve of what he did, but i don't either bash him for it. You came from a well to do family Bula (for Phil standards) Manny didn't. He's out securing his and his children's future. Boxers come and go in here. Navarette.........Espinosa........where are they now? Were you cheering them when they are at their peak? Yet what are you doing these days when they are living like a rat? You giving a centavo for them? The point is a man with Manny's background has to take care of himself. So if he does things for money, then that's his damn business and you're not to sit on a high chair. Coz deep down hes's a good man with all good man's fault.

    Riannu,

Wait, are you mad at me for saying that I hate what Manny does sometimes, outside the boxing ring?

Well, I'm just telling the truth. I love how he represents the country in a proud and positive way, and I love supporting his fights, but if I see that he's doing something that I dont like, I'm not gonna be supporting him with that.

So what if he's not particularly well educated? I know for a fact that a lot of poor Filipinos have a very strong "palabra de honor" (word of honor) and they will do everything they can to honor whatever it is that they promised to someone, so that their name will not be tarnished. It's the only thing they have, and they'll protect it to the death. You dont need an education to honor a contract.

And I'm not really bashing him. I defend him here all the time. It doesnt mean I have to like whatever he does, even if I think it isnt so good.

No, I'm not well to do (for Pil. standards). I never said I was so. You think I'm wealthy just because I can write in English? Or because I can log on to the internet?

Yes, it's good that he's doing what he can to support his family's future. As long as he's doing it in an honest and honorable way, I will support and approve of what he does.

What happened to Espinosa and Navarette is sad, true. But why are you pointing an accusing finger at me? I didnt make them broke.

If someone wants to help them financially, I'll support their cause, maybe chip in a few hndred pesos. But I am not a rich guy and I have money problems of my own. Me first. They've had the taste of the high life already.

And yes, I was cheering for Espinosa when he fought Cesar Soto, Mantecas Medina and Carlos Rios. But I was too young and had no interset in boxing yet when Navarette was in his prime.

I dont sit on a high chair. I'm just calling it as I see it. He did something not cool, and he broke his promises (verbal and written) and to me, that is wrong.

I dont hate him. I just hate the disappointing things that he does sometimes, outside the boxing ring.

If you still want to support whatever he does, right or wrong, then you go right ahead, I wont stop you.

He wont. Even if he loses all the money he earned through boxing, he's already got a lifetime business contract with one of the country's biggest food and beverage corporations (San Miguel Corp.) and I heard that he's got sole distributorship of SMB products in his area.

He'll be able to live comfortably, even without all the boxing money that he earned.
