aw, really? you know lots of filipinos?

why the **** should we aspire to become a boxer when we could become a basketball player, a showbiz personality, a politician, or a rock star?

besides, pac is not considered a role model of middle class citizens, he's more of a masa type (lower class, proletariat) if you know what i mean.

...and it is not a bad thing. but filipinos are more than that.

 

finito why do you sound so bitter about pacs success? whats the difference betyween pac and the support duran had from his own people. he is a success story that filipino people are proud off.

Actually I was about to say the same thing... people over here wouldn't drop everything just to get an autograph from Pac. True, we love him as a fighter, but we certainly don't worship him.

It wasn't Pac who started the trend of a whole nation stopping just to watch him. For example, when the Philippine basketball team almost beat south korea in the Asian Olympics, the people was on tenterhooks. If all PBA finals were on a Sunday, traffic would be lessened somewhat almost to the same extent that Pac has.

We Filipinos are passionate about our sports.
